The Doctor Who theme I used to listen to in the 70's. ( probably the same as the 60's one).
Thunderbirds theme is very cool though, but it is more of a regimental, officious type sound. It says "Looks at what we've done! Ha-ha!" Sort of like the national anthem of a nation of short people.
Doctor Who's theme sucks your guts out to some portal located way out where only a Time Lord is going to find it. I place it in the mysterious realm occupied by such classics as "I Am the Walrus", "This is Not the Way Home", "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" etc.

Dr Who absolutely. Goosebumps stuff.

I was watching Space 1999 (!) the other day, which was made by the makers of Thunderbirds and that has one of my favourite themes too. Better than Thunderbirds IMO.

Maybe I read it wrong, but all Doctor Who needs is a pair of scissors & the Thunderbirds are cactus eh!

Thunderbirds, largely because you had to make sure it was loud enough to enjoy and hear at 6am on a Saturday morning, but not loud enough to wake parents.
