Managed to catch a little gem on Foxtel the other night called "Salton Sea", Val Kilmer and Vincent D'Onofrio as good as they always are.

Has anybody got any comments on "Man on the moon", the story of Andy Kaufman, I absolutely hated it, but couldn't turn it off. It's been a while so I wouldn't mind seeing it again, I keep looking out for it on Fox.

I'm a Jim Carrey fan so I thought it would be funny, I've never been so P!ssed off with a movie in my life.

Watched "Into The Wild" the other night, and was a little disappointed, but I think that was due to my own expectation ... There's no doubt it is a quality movie, albeit slightly slow at times.

Can't comment on "Man On The Moon" LM, for some reason it's always been one of those movies that doesn't appeal to me ... A bit like "Capote", despite how highly I rate Thomas Seymour Hoffman.

My little bloke is 4 and Kung Fu Panda kept his attention, he also wants to see Speed Racer. I have taken him to probably 10 movies now starting with Cars when he was 2 and he is good as long as the popcorn lasts then can get a bit restless.

Would recommend Kung Fu Panda as long as kids dont get scared when the baddie is after the good guys.

As you could imagine by my username & avatar, Cars is his favourite, thanks for the advice, I might give it a go, he'll be fine with any scary bits, I've walked in on him when he's been watching what he shouldn't on Fox.

Do you mean horrible, but attention-grabbing?
Or simply gory and repulsive?

Yeh I watched it a while back now and thought it was ok. Not great, just ok. It took me as one of those "he's dead, we can fiddle with the truth and no one will care" type movies.

It's been a while since I've seen it, and I can't recall why I thought that though.

Highly recommend it. Riveting.

You feel like screaming at the characters for every wrong decision they make.

Which is often.

Did the seven weeklies for seven bucks at Blockbuster this week. So far...

Shot of Love - Low-budget indie flick made in Adelaide. I should know better.

Old School - When Will Ferrell/Vince Caughan/Wilson brothers were funny and not just annoying.

Glory Road - standard life-affirming Disney sports movie. Enjoyable if predictable.

The History Boys - Play adapted into a film. And it shows. Over-written, glib and smug. Only film I've seen to make paedophilia look 'warm and fuzzy.'

Deliver Us From Evil - Oscar winning doco about paedophile priest Oliver O'Grady and the Vatican cover-up.

Kaufman is still a pretty huge name in Hollywood, I wonder how far from the truth it was. I can't even rate it, it is the wierdest movie I've ever seen, I hated it but had to watch to see what would happen next, very clever.

5 movies I can't resist watching when I see them listed on fox are:
Shawshank Redemption
In The Name Of The Father
School Of Rock
Jersey Girl
Million Dollar Baby

All very unique although the first two listed have their similarities

Worst Movie Ever: Borat, I like a bit of smut but this guy is demented. I can't find humour in peadophilia :vom:
