Not into the Terrence Clark/e (?) "angle" (read: domination) of the story line- there are much bigger figures to look into (George Freman, Lenny McPherson, Neddy Smith, Tom Dominican, Barry McCann, the NSW Police Force... ;) )
This series was rushed & suffers for it- with thorough research, they could've hit the jackpot (again).
Also sick of seeing many scenes with paper notes, just to remind us it is the 70's-80's, y'know?
Being a huge fan of the genre, this series gets a thumbs down from me- with so much material to work with, they could've done a whole lot better (Painters & Dockers war, more on the Great Bookie Robbery (& how all gang members met their fate), the Sausage War in Pentridge etc).
Terrence Clark/e imported heroin from Asia, when no-one else was. Wealth bought him power, power allowed him to be ruthless. Many of the real "Mr Bigs" earnt their power through being ruthless, & this brought them wealth- a huge difference.

agreed far to much of the series based around Clarke.........i find its getting stale and there are so many other angles that they could or should of explored......which would have been far more interesting....

maybe they are focusing on Mr Clark so much as to leave the option of having another series focusing on those events/Mr Bigs

I watched it again last night and agree - too much about the Clarke. Mind you, there are good reasons to ban them forever from these shores.

Charges - Drug running and murder of vowels

Mind you, Anna Hutchison is a good sort - I wish she'd where her Power Ranger suit around.........

Underbelly 2 is missing-
1) Narration
2) Musical intro

I think these 2 simple points was the difference between Underbelly being a documentary & a soapie...

I'm finding that I'm enjoying the Melbourne based episodes much more than the Terry Clarke/Sydney based eps.

Going by next weeks shorts (And I know no history of what actually did happen - unlike series one)
it looks like we're going to start getting into the 'corrupt' police side of things.

I find it interesting because it's 'basically' a true story,
and am interested to see how that plays out

Have to say Ray Bilings as the Bob Trimbole character is way too cuddly to be a ruthless drug kingpin. He is more and more a doddery old fella out of his depth. Loved his urinal runs though, 'don't get much warning these days'..great stuff..

It's disappointing that the producers of the show choose to fictionalize elements and run with so many inaccuracies:

http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,25098786-5001021,00.html

Obviously not the first show or movie to do so, but how hard is it to just get the sequence of events right?

Absolutely. You should read the book 'In the line of fire' by Michael Drury. Provides all the inside goss on Roger the Doger and Neddy Smith. A great read. Drury was very lucky to survive Flannery's bullet.

They said at the end of last weeks show that Underbelly would be returning on the 21st of April,
And that meanwhile they would be repeating already played episodes till then.

Two-week non-ratings period over Easter, so the station not wasting first-run episodes out of ratings. As such, look forward to about 76 hours of funniest home videos over the next 10 days
