For mine, Die Hard is the best action movie of all time. It was a trend-setter and full-on from start to finish. Great villian by Alan Rickman. The scene where he walks across broken glass with bare feet is all-time memorable

Often imitated, often terribly

I would also have to give a big tick to 2 Aussie flicks ... Mad Max 1 & 2 ... intense, exciting with a hero who barely says more than 10 words through both movies ... the ultimate loner-hero-action speak louder than words-tough guy

Sort of crossing genres but my sci-fi action faves:

The Terminator
Minority Report
The Matrix
Predator

Are also right up there for me

Favourite 'Action' type movies?
It kinda reminds me of that halfwit customer in the video store
from the classic Kevin Smith film 'CLERKS'

any Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, bloodsport was his best and any Dolph Lundgren movie, Showdown in Little Tokyo was his best. Love my action movies dont care how lame the story line is. Action movies are like porn dont worry about the story line its just the action that counts.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Indiana Jones movies are excellent. I think that The Last Crusade is the best though.

I also like Bourne Identity/Supremacy.

Also for action movies, can't go past the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

I was going to mention Pulp Fiction & Resorvoir Dogs, but didn't think it met the category correctly ... I'll include them under the DDD clause :D
