I dont normally get into rev head movies, but have to admit I quite enjoyed "The Need For Speed". Some good vehicular action and for some reason I have a thing for the main chick. Not going to win any Oscars or anything, just found it enjoyable.

Saw American Sniper last night. It is good but it is not life changing. This movie is one that would be much better on the big screen and would also be a lot better if you were a proud American. I enjoyed it but felt like it dragged a bit at the back end but still was missing one final scene at the end when he goes off with the ex vet.

What the fock was up with the awkward plastic baby in the middle of the movie. They spent millions on the movie but spent $8 on a plastic baby that had me and a few others in the theatre in stitches.

Worth a look even if this "based on a true story" movie has been fabricated a bit. 7.5/10

we also noticed the baby too, it was ridiculous.

and it was strange they did miss out that final scene. made it feel like less about chris kyle, and more about "america, f*ck yeah" which i think took away from it a bit. they could have done a better job about showing the moral dilemmas of having to shoot kids, the PTSD which they kind of only touched on, same with the effects on his wife etc. all of that took a back seat to blind patriotism. other recent war movies, like lone survivor or the hurt locker do a much better job imo.

if you read up on the bloke, he was a perpetual liar. his service history may be correct (if it was corroborated, and not just what he told them happened when he got back), but lots of things he said happened, probably never did.

Yep did read up on him last night. He lost a civil suit against Jesse "The Body" Ventura whom he said he knocked out but it was fantasy. JV was awarded 1.85 million post his death

Saw The Wedding Ringer on the weekend, I didn't mind it, few good laughs
pretty predictable like most comedies out now.

but in the previews I saw get hard looks pretty funny and top 5 with chris rock will be gold I reckon

Foxcatcher.

I thought this was going to be a story of sporting glory and olympic triumph. It definitely is not that. But it is an exquisitely shot film with quality acting.

If you're going to see it, don't do any background research on the story. Best to go in ignorant of the ending.

A Doco, as opposed to movie, but watched "Living On One Dollar" last night .. Might have been posted before. Im not sure. A real insight into the poverty in Guatemala. Thoroughly recommend taking a look for anyone that hasn't done so.
