Brian Koppleman?

Great writer and a great script.

Naturally it got rejected everywhere.

Until someone cottoned on that it was great writing and a great script.

Talks a bit about it here on his blog...

Definitely check it out. Koppleman also hosts a podcast on ESPN. Pretty eclectic range of guests from sports, film & TV and the arts...

Since moving back to the Port area lately, I decided to show my missus Bad Boy Bubby to point out some landmarks, since she's new to the area.

I actually like the movie, but she was not a fan.

Just watched those Virgin Australia Film Festival shorts.

Richmond should take home the Golden Branson. Little fella's story tugs at the heartstrings.
Saints is pretty slick. Hope the kid gets a guernsey.
Crows is good for a few chuckles. Tex Walker impressed in his audition for Sharknado 3.
Bombers lay it on thick. Hallmark movies don't have this much schmaltz.
Port
should be disqualified for submitting a film clip and not a film.

Only ten films submitted. Guess the other six clubs couldn't be arsed!

Watched two good movies last night.

The Inbetweeners 2

Definitely my kind of movie. Pretty much toilet humour through the whole thing, which is awesome.

8/10...could've been more boob. Deducted a point for each boob.

Draft Day

If you're a sports movie fan, and especially if you're an NFL fan, you will enjoy this movie. Its about the fictitious 2014 NFL Draft, from the point of view of the Cleveland Browns, as well as a few players. Its pretty easy to follow if you know about drafts and how they work, but I did have to give the missus a small crash course in the system along the way, because this movie just assumes everyone watching will know what they're talking about. Just have the pause button ready for when the females start asking questions

9/10. If you like sports movies, you have to watch this one.

Bill Simmons said on ESPN that Koppelman, Matt Damon and Ed Norton are all keen on the idea of doing a sequel. Hopefully they are working on that.

Heard these rumours for years though. Don't think there has ever been anything concrete.

I thought the Ray Jennings character looked like Arian Foster, but thought naaahh, he's too big and his face is a bit different.

But it actually is him. He always has a beard or something in real life, so he looks totally different clean cut. Crazy.

Real life...

Gone Girl

Doesn't feel like a 2.5 hour film. Fincher a great director. The ending will leave some unsatisfied. The lead actress was superb (and very attractive..)

this.

loved the movie, was excellent. ending got quite improbable, but as margaret said on at the movies, by that time you are hooked.

and yes Rosamund Pyke was brilliant, stole every scene she was in (though i thought affleck was very good too)
