Cheetah the chimpanzee has died of kidney failure at the amazing age of 80
Cheetah was the chimp who played along side Johnny Weissmuller in the Tarzan movies
Cheetah started the acting career in the 1930s in Tarzan movies
Cheetah also starred in the TV series, Tarzan, in the 1960s

Cheetah inspired several other actors of the 60s + 70s
Roddy Mcdowall
Maurice Evans
Buck Kartalian
Wright King
And a host of others

Cheetah also inspired the TV group The Monkees
The cartoon George of the Jungle was a spin off
Also the Kinks were inspired by Cheetah with their smash hit Apeman
