There was one absolutely superb challenge, the one where they built and climbed the steps, thought Rob was going to pass out and topple over. It was great, like the days of old. With the next two series predicted to be back at Samoa, you can count out a return to swimming challenges which is a real shame

You're not wrong. Jeff Probst had more man-love for Rob going on than any of the contestants!

Absolutely, just wish it would be a return to what made it successful in the first place, less gimmicks.

But since they've said 2 ex players will be coming back, who do you think it would be? Hope it's not anyone who was in Heroes v Villains. I reckon the producers will see Phillip as a cash cow - wouldn't be surprised at all to see him do back-to-backs. Can just see it now - Phillip vs Coach! I thought Todd from China was a good player. Rob C is always fun. And if anyone deserves a chance at 'redemption' it's Erik from Micronesia!

The preview that they showed had someone who looked very similar, could well be him.

Agreed, David's speech was a joke.

Plenty of good points about how RI changed the dynamic of the game. Guess I didn't really think too much about that stuff as it was a known going into the season. Given that was the template from day 1, I thought the season played out ok.

What I did like about RI was it removed Exile Island from the game, which was a concept I was getting very tired of.

I think we can all agree Challenges aren't the same as they used to be. It's been like that for several seasons now.

It's interesting how we see things differently. I didn't mind the fact that they gave them enough food and let themsevels keep in reasonable shape.
For me, survivor has gone past surviving the elements, and is now about surviving the challenges and the vote.
I don't need to see them struggling to move even before a challenge, that just kills the challenge.
Would much prefer to see them fed enough to have some energy to then crash in like when they played the Schmergenbrawl in Survivor Samoa.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!
