Whoopsee, luckily the maths was a bit better on the bowling green today where the Wedgie boys (father and son) dominated to get up over Semaphore 25 to 24 in hard fought game.
Don't know what all this fuss was in the past about driving past the Cheltenham cemetry as North people seem to be quite successful at it in recent years! (unlike those in gold and black)

George is Joe's brother.

Ben Higgins been back in town for a while now.

Bolton boys went back home around August last year.

Wedgie it's no longer the cemetry - Along Port Road now Oval Ave is the place to worry about - have to beat us to get that cup - did Wedgie son carry dad in the bowls???

For those who aren't on the free email service here is what Members received on Friday from Ron Fuller.

Col D

Just a quick note on our progress.

With about 5 weeks before we trial on Friday the 9th of March the training is progressing well. Our program is starting to hit top gear in readiness for the season ahead.

This internal trial will be at night under lights at Thebarton and we encourage as many of our supporters to come along to observe. It will be a chance for the new and young players to impress. A lot are keen to play now.

Further to the earlier report about recruits we can inform everyone that we have secured Adam Klun for the next two seasons. Adam finished 2006 in the Hills league with Onkaparinga Valley and is keen to play league football again with us after Sturt didn’t require his services.

Over the past weekend we have trained Friday night at Thebarton, Saturday morning on the beach at Henley, had a full day of training and seminars at Encounter Bay on the Sunday, then completed the weekend work with a full session on Monday night at Thebarton.

We went to Victor because we play our first game there against South at Easter. It was a chance to look at the ground and get together too.

Our Re-hab group is growing shorter and shorter so by the first trial we hope to have only Gavin Colville on the long term injury list. Gavin is planning to resume in mid May.

It is probable that a few of the players who have had several full finals campaigns will be non starters in the early trials though.

That is the state of play at the moment and I look forward to keeping you up to date with our year.

All the best.

Ron Fuller

Looks like the Eagles have updated their player list http://www.wwtfc.com.au/theclub_currentplayers.asp getting rid of the names who have left. Interestingly, Westbrook and Potter are still on there. Is there a possibility of them playing for us again or is this list not up to date? Also Jason Earl and Brad Coles aren't on the list. Have they left the club? Will we have enough players to fill two senior sides this year?

George can play too!! Very tough onballer who will be in the middle of the packs, I'd expect some league action from him this year and could prove to be a real find. As could his former teammate Joel Fitzgerald who has gone to Sturt, their old club Ramblers on EP couldn't have had two bigger losses at the same time!!

yes george pedler can definitely play, looks like a lion runnin round with a big mane of hair in the yellow eyre peninsula uniforms they wear at the state country carnival.
hard and tough and reasonably quick, a good pick up
