Some handy ins for South. Legs to win a low scoring game by 5-6 goals. Well done to Sambo Jnr on 100 games.
Shame O'Neill wont be out there..

Pretty scrappy and congested game but got the win even if we did burn some percentage with poor goal kicking.
With the top 5 so tight we just have to keep winning

Alastair Lord improving with each game. Very balanced and cool headed.
Our kicking is shite but so was South's so perhaps the conditions were a factor.
Westies a danger as we always have trouble at Richmond.

Didn't notice any on the outer or on the ground during 1/4 and 3/4 break but the ground did feel a bit spongy at the 1/4 and 3/4 break.

Norwood junior who was picked up by Essendon for 2 years and returned home this year.
Only 20 years old but plays with someone with more experience than his age would suggest. Pacy and well balanced and unfortunately for Norwood may get picked up again.

Was named as a sub for Essendon and never played a minute of league. Knock on him at VFL level was that he just didn’t do enough. Heaps of sub 10 possession games and unfortunately was always going to be delisted. I’m not sure he gets picked up again

Only had one eye on the first half but seems South were competitive in a scrappy affair. Within 7 points at the final change before a meek final term was offered up, with the margin blowing out. A sadly predictable result in the end.
Dunkin, Mutch and Davis the only players considered worthy of a mention in the Best Players by the club.
The injury to young Howes in the final term didn't look great.

I know where you're coming from. Whilst it's been good to see some of the new-comers show signs of development, after a decade or so where the club was generally in the mix for finals and highly competitive it hasn't been much fun returning to being the easy beats these past 18 months.
A lot of games also tend to be somewhat of a chore to watch and are devoid of too many memorable moments. Not suggesting that scoring is the only measure when it comes to 'entertainment value', but in 7 of South's 11 games this season they've kicked 8 goals or less. Other than last Sunday, poor weather can't be blamed for this either.
Maybe I'm just getting old and keep longing for the days of positional play and shoot-outs
