Its basically between the 2022 Premiers and the 1964 Premiers. The Beatles toured Australia when the Panthers last won a Premiership. Paul McCartney is touring Australia later this month so will it be an omen for the Panthers (1/4 of a Premiership?)

39 point lead in the last quarter and had to hang on for a 2 point win.
Wasn’t pretty but should allow us to avoid the spoon

Norwood to good over the 4 quarters. Souths second quarter was insipid - as they stood around and watched Norwood boot 6 goals to 1- it inevitably cost them the game. A withering last quarter effort by the panthers saw them almost get the points after trailing by 39points early in the quarter.
Liam Fitt decided to have an impact on the game and dominated the quarter.
South could be considered unlucky in the dying moments, when Sproule seemed to be interfered with in a marking contest- at least the unashamedly pro Norwood commentator on the live stream seemed to think so....

The umps put their whistles away in the last 5 minutes, was some very dodgy non calls both ways including the last one you mentioned

This game was similar to the game earlier this year , when NW broke its 2023 maiden status

SA.... 1-1...... 1-2 ....1-4 ....8-8
NW.. 1-1 ......4-2... 10-7 ..12-7

NW 3-4...9-9...10-10...12-11
SA 3-3...4-4.....6-7......12-9

Both games
1Q even
2Q NW set up decent leads
SA finished very well both games

For the most part it was a fairly entertaining game in damp conditions. Diabolical second quarter as Callow and Legs did as they pleased, but to South's credit at least the white towel wasn't thrown in (yep expectations really have been lowered). Cant say I noticed the Sproule 'non free' from my vantage point 150m away in the grandstand, might need to dig up a replay. The umps were reasonable for most of the game.

Named best for South were Mutch, Skinner, Davis, Sampson and Fitt.

12.9 was South's highest score for the year, which provides one insight into why we're sitting 8th :?

Well done to the clubs and sanfl for the pre-match ceremony.
