Seems I underestimated North, only losing by 27.

To state that was a much needed win is obviously an understatement. Used the ball pretty well by foot in windy conditions, the forwards presented well, and South avoided the 10-20 minute lapses which have proven fatal this season. From my biased viewpoint I felt we gifted North a few very soft goals to keep them within arm’s reach in the first half, and then manage to nullify the advantage they had with the breeze in the third quarter.
Injuries to Rose and Sproule (who was playing very well) left South short on the bench in the final term.
North were terribly indirect and slow to move the ball, with 357 touches resulting in 31 inside 50s.
Brooksby has now been named in South’s best two on 6 of 8 occasions this season. Clavarino, Ramsay, Haines and Heaslip also named in the best, while I thought Davis was stiff to miss out. Like the look of Shillabeer also who has shown in half a dozen appearances he can take a pack mark and is a reasonable kick.
