As you know I hate early predictions even more so with the season so young.

On Friday night Norwood face the Eagles and it's season over for the loser at 0 and 2.

Same goes for the loser of Centals v West. Probably also for the winner....

North and Adelaide both come off big wins. One will lose.

Sturt and Glenelg were both good winners and looks like the flag favorite will come from this match. Just remember this will be the first match at Wigan Oval.

South travel to Alberton and the early indications are that Port want access to their 4 Covid top up players from South as they don't think it's right that they should play against them. Fair enough too as there is not enough we can do to help them.

Your side was quick, committed, noticably bigger than last year and in all seriousness was unlucky to lose. Inexperienced sides (in terms of having played together will be inconsistent) will often show their best and worst in the one game. Your worst was not that bad and your best will show that you are an improving side.

On another note there was a very healthy amount of Centrals supporters at the game.

Finding consistency is going to be the key for the Dogs. Sadly for the last 5 plus years we have been saying 'if we can cut out that one bad quarter' we will be decent. I think we might see the same issue again this year where at our best we are decent but cant sustain that for long periods.

I do worry for us if we have a bad run with injuries.

Success this year imo is winning more games than last season. Anything less is another failure.

I'm quietly confident that We will win 8 games at least, maybe 10.

As a Dogs supporter I left the ground upbeat, almost as if we had won which shows the depths we have plunged to in recent years. Yes we could have won that on a different day, but the fact we showed real spirit and came back from 6 goals down to hit the lead vindicated my hunch we we going to be significantly more competitive this year. Small sample size though- who knows, we don’t really know where South sit as yet.. it might have been 8 beating 9th! (I suspect not)

On a different note, that’s the first time I’ve taken the car into the ground which is an absolute no brainer for $5 giving you a cheap car park if nothing else. On a slightly critical note, despite clearly a lot of effort going into facilities at the ground, it remains the worst by far from a spectator viewing point of view. Very little height from most vantage points on the western wing, and looking through two nets/fences from behind the northern goals.

I hear you.

Just to get the area grassed and maintained on "the hill" grandstand side took some doing.

It highlights how much was invested by councils to make all the other ovals what they are. Norwood oval would cost a Kings ransom in todays money. The club has plans to significantly alter the current set up regarding the club rooms, grand stand and players rooms. Once again we are talking millions.
