Match of the round (for me).

A great chance for South to press on. Possibly no new injuries and Karpany, Tucker and Sawford may all resume in the reserves adding that bit of competition.

West will be full of confidence. Reward for effort has come and for me the surprise packet has been Keogh up forward.

Both teams coming off good wins.

As I said last week young teams often have a bad one against form. Hope its not us.

South by a point.

South should get the win at home but it won't be easy considering West beat Glenelg last week.
Parrella has had a lot of hit outs when he has played so hopefully young McGree can put up a decent challenge and the Panthers' midfield can read Parrella's taps.
I expect another hard slog and the Panthers to grind out a gritty win by about 15 points.

Well I was very happy after three quarters and then the last quarter we completely fell away. West absolutely dominated that last quarter but South did enough to steady the flow and hold on for a 20 point win. Still happy with the win, just a bit disappointing to finish that way. The usual suspects Cross and Haines played well as did Highmore. The young small forwards continued their impressive form and applied excellent pressure. Cam McGree stood tall and put up a great effort in the ruck.
Huge game next week at Prospect.

Tyson Brown copped an injury right at the finish and looked to be in a bad way. Already suffering from a groin complaint that kept him out last week.

He may miss.

Mark Noble had a poor game and the 2 South tall forwards, Overall and Haren were soundly beaten.

Karpany and Sawford resumed in the reserves and need more time. If Brown is out I would expect Ellsworthy to come back in.

The reserves had a great second half and we need competition for spots. Really like the look of Freitag. He will take time to develop at his size but will press for selection at some stage.

Loved the work yesterday of Haines. Played the sweeper role to perfection and his speed and endurance make him invaluable. Highmore has been an outstanding pick up from Canberra. Sampson plays like his father and was about our best yesterday. McGree's effort all around the ground is infectious. Broadbent did not have as much influence as the previous 4 games but Joel Cross is playing as well as ever.

The continued good form of the elevated u/18s , Bogle, Wilkinson, Dumesney, Milsolm and McCreery has been impressive.

First time I have seen the free paid at the restart after a goal for a trainer being inside the forward 50. Unlucky.

Big test this week at Prospect. Come out and support the club Panther supporters.

A win but a very poor last quarter. The young lads are coming on well, Im particularly impressed with Sampsons marked improvement this year.
Competition now up for spots with a few of Saturdays underachievers now looking over their shoulders. All of a sudden a bit of depth around and players will need to perform to hold their spots. Karpany, Sawford, Whittlesea and the 2 mexicans to come in in a couple of weeks...a couple of tough games coming up too- we will know where we stand after that.
