WWT v South Saturday 2.40

Dear SANFL
Stop pharking around with the start times. A 2.40 start will see (not see) this game end in darkness.

Big challenge for South after the mid season steal by Sydney. Eagles form has been very ordinary until their last game where they knocked off Norwood.

AS always, hoping for a South win, Our record against the Eagles is lopsided over a long period and we get a chance to get one back with what I think is a settled side (baring Ruck). McGree gets his chance in Ruck after Knolls departure.

South by a point.

2:40 would be to obviously suit the overlords at C7. But yes, I agree..

Looking forward to this one.

I’m going to start the official Cam McGree Fan Club! The boy has a huge task and he needs all the support he can get. He just needs to provide a contest in the ruck and I’m sure our on ballers can get some clearances from the opposition’s ruck. It will be tough but now is not the time to give up. Fight on forever, we weaken never!! I’ll be at Woodville with my Eagles mates so this will be a fun one. WWT season on the line just about and it’s always a hard task at Woodville but I think we can do it. South by not much.

Yet the SANFL pays C7 for the privilege of being dictated to. What a messed up world we live in...

How much longer before Boyd tosses the toys out of the cot and skulks off to country footy?

If South are a finals contender they should win this. Too much internal events happening at Woodville I feel.

Interesting comments about Boyd . Looks the first coach who has worked him out.

Watching this on the box , near the end of the third.

Panthers player fairly tackles an Eagle, swings him in a full 360 degrees, Eagle goes to handball but chooses not to - called play on.

Seconds later Eagle Poole slings a Panther to the ground in a tackle - holding the ball.

Has it been this one-sided all day?

Terrible effort after half time. Too much left to too few.

J. Cross, B. Heaslip, N. Liddle, S. Overall named best by the club.

Didn't think the umps influenced the game too much, but WWT had the better of the free kick count, 28-14.

Well that didn’t go to plan. After half time we were completely outplayed especially in the centre. We certainly missed a certain ruckman. Eagles are hitting some good form.

Everyone at Glenelg in 2014. & 2015 know the Eagles have got a beauty in Sam Lonergan. If the Eagles boys buy in with him they'll go well before the inevitable call to him from the AwFuL

If he's worked players out, I'll back him in.

South were putrid after half time. Embarrassingly bad. Hardness at the ball non-existent.

Some guys need a spell in the 2nd's but finding it hard with depth right now.
Injuries to Schwartz, Haren, Irra and Biemans not helping the cause.
Schwartz is a massive out and we need him to get in the middle to fire it up. Cross and Liddle can not keep doing it week in and week out - need some young guys to step up !

Norwood at home next Monday. Critical win needed to stay in the 5. We are looking shaky right now.

Lonergan is gaining traction at Oval Ave. Some faves under Godden are no longer guaranteed a game. Some senior players were not fully invested in the change of game plan but the tide is turning as evidenced in the last 2 wins. Players benefitting from the change of coach are the Gaffney brothers, Rowe and youngsters like Pickett, Moore, Weidemann and Heinjus have been given a go. Guifreda is struggling and Thommo is only just starting to come good. Finger injury has stuffed N. Hayes' season and Lewis will come back through the reserves. If Boyd has learnt his lesson, he may play at CD. More upside to come for the Eagles (hopefully).

Agree on Schwartz, adds some grunt and is a good ball user. Started the season very well given his 2018 was a write-off.

In a quirk of the draw we have 7 of the last 10 at home, where we've been hard to beat in recent seasons.
