Leigh Ryswyk announces retirement

One of the finest modern day players of the North Adelaide Football Club has tonight announced his retirement to to his teammates & coaches.
Leigh Ryswyk, one of the clubs most consistent high performers is drawing a close to a highly respected 13 years’ service and 225 League games and for his beloved adopted Club, as well as 4 State Games.
Leigh will continue playing until the end of the 2018 season.

Hard to get an interstate recruit that lives up to their profile AND sticks around for a long time. Both North and the competition in general will miss him.

One of my favourite players to commentate during my 10 years broadcasting the competition.
I know it was only against the NEAFL but I remember when he kicked 7 in a state game.
Quality player and a quality person, been lucky enough to interview him a few times.

Agree. 13 years is a good effort. For about the last five years I was thinking he was bound to have moved on with so many players coming and going from the SANFL these days, and then he'd bob up on the telly and kick a handful of goals.
