Sacrifice has followed North Adelaide’s Mitch Clisby on his way to his 100th Macca’s League game milestone.

First, the half-back initially traveled to Adelaide from Broken Hill as a teenager just for a chance to play in the Roosters’ Under-17 side back in 2006.

Next, Clisby made the move from the NSW mining town to SA’s capital to play regularly at Menzies Crescent once he was initially overlooked by AFL recruiters.

Then, after spending two seasons on Melbourne’s AFL list in 2013 and 2014, Clisby was about to settle back into life in the red and white when he answered the call to play for Essendon as a ”top-up” player during the 2015 pre-season amid the club’s drugs scandal.

It was no surprise he eventually assumed the captaincy at North in 2016, once again sacrificing his own game for the betterment of the team during the previous two lean seasons.

But after a conversation with coach Josh Carr over summer, the 28-year-old decided to step down from the leadership group to focus on his own game having effectively put it on hold for the past two years.

Just when the sacrifice was supposed to end, Clisby was at it again on Monday when he kept Glenelg star Terry Milera scoreless in the Roosters’ 10-point win at the Bay.

No doubt there will be another selfless act when the former Rooster skipper lines up against Central District at Prospect to reach triple figures on Sunday.

It’s Father’s Day here on Sunday
I’m a father so it’s my day and on my day I get what I want.
So North will win by 100 points

I’m not being disrespectful to any Centrals supporters or their dogs or their wives.

I would. in the sense that he has been a great club man. Think he would go to the board, let them know, work out a timeline.

Wouldn't happen. Not to say he may or may not go at season's end but no way during the season.

Why would you quit a club mid-year, he's turned things around numerous times in the past. Also, it's all well & good to get rid of the coach, but replace him with whom? It's up to the club, if they think it's time for Roy to go, then they need to do some background work first & attempt to find a suitable replacement.

They’ll need to recruit some players that are above mediocre standard. Doesn’t matter who is in charge, it you don’t have the cattle you’re gonna lose more than you win.

Im suprised about this talk on Laird, hes the only person to coach a 10 goal win against North this year!
Should have the job as long as he wants it.

On North’s line up, personally I’d prefer Slee In the right back pocket.
Interchange would be Deep, McDonough and McInerney.

If Rozee was available, he’d replace LeRoy at half forward flank

Rozee should be back in a couple, currently in the U18 State championships

Unfortuantely probably wont see him in a north guernsey after this year

Exactly right. When you lose three of your best players and can't recruit replacements, it wouldnt matter who was coaching. Rather have someone with Roys experience and passion for the club than someone else
