That was a disappointing result. Thought the Bays would’ve got much closer than that

Efficient and workmanlike by the Eagles. Bays probably should have been level at half time but kicked poorly for goal. James Rowe a very mature and composed debut for the Eagles. Lukosius played more up the ground today and was very damaging. On-ball brigade performing well considering no Petrenko, Sinor, Goldsworthy or Boyd today. When they return, the depth will certainly be deeper than previous years when we have been found wanting at the business end of the season. Redden has been a revelation this season at ball ups and also around the ground. Good test against North next week who have 3 ex Eagles playing for them.

10 goal win and 10 more scoring shots . Probably the best team won and no excuses about missed opportunities. A few good players out as well which is a good sign for the Eagles . They are the team to beat.

I'd also like to mention the 2 ex Mapies players Sharrod and Gray on their contribution. I can't help wondering with all the Magpie player that have left over the last few seasons to rival SANFL clubs, how good a team they may have had as a stand alone Magpie side.
