I open the Advertiser this morning and who is the SANFL player of the Round, no other than Brad Crouch a highly rated player from an AFL club's reserves team - just coming back from injury. What a load of crap. It is the SANFL round up, why do we have to put up with more AFL rubbish.
Why couldn't they pick a legitimate SANFL player, maybe a Glenelg player from their sensational win over the highly rated power team which included 19 AFL listed players. If it is to be about the SANFL make it more about the SANFL.

Could be because they don't know the names of any genuine SANFL clubs players.

He would have to be in the running
40 disposals, 10 tackles, seven clearances, five inside 50ms, four marks, one rebound 50m

I suppose the only match The Advertiser footy reporters would been to (if they went) were Sturt V Adel or Glenelg V Port. The other games were inconsiquenal. Maybe they only checked the SANFL website stats.

40 possessions in 65% game time definitely deserves this recognition.

You would expect someone of his ability to get that many possessions
a proper player from the SANFL eg McBean who starred for Glenelg
and helped them win a game no one gave them a chance in wouldve been better.

Was he dragged in the final quarter? Might explain why Sturt suddenly started kicking ass.

Hardly an appropriate award for an AFL regular dropped back to his reserves side to get form post-injury. I mean, no wonder the stats made it look like he brought his own football.

But we shouldn't be surprised. Above all, I'm sure he's absolutely rapt to receive the recognition - it might help him get a 'proper' game next week.

I'm sure it'll have pride of place on his bookshelf, right next to that "best dressed swimmer award" he won at the Year 8 novelty pool meet.

And propping up his complementary copy of Nigel Smart's 'The Art of Smugness.'
