North midfielder Jay Shannon could play his first IGA League match since Round 10 against Central at Prospect Oval on Saturday.
The 2014 West End State player has played his last three games in the Reserves after being unable to regain his place in the first 21 since a one-match suspension in Round 11.
The former Magpies has been joined in the Roosters’ 23-man squad by key defender Cameron Craig and utility Josh Gregg.
Key forward Sam Gordon is unavailable due to a finger injury while midfielder Nick Amato has been sent back to the Reserves.

Not sure how the chooks'll fare this weekend. Head says the 'Dogs should get up, but I'd like to think we can give them a run for their money, and I'd hope we bounce back from the poor showing against Norwood a couple of weeks back.

Well done to Joey Anderson on his ton.

It's like a broken nose, this one.
Heart says Dogs, head says North, due to home ground.

Thiele not named in either grade, is he done?

He's back in the Twos, named on the bench. Still has something to offer when fit and in form.

By rights. It should be the Dogs by less than a goal owing to North's home ground advantage getting them close.
However, I have a feelings the Cocks will get up by a couple of goals, so I'll tip North.

Cohen Thiele update.

Yes, in a few weeks and on his own terms. According to the club:

Wednesday night at training Cohen informed the Club and Playing Group that he will be retiring from SANFL Football at the end of the Season. Cohen has given great service to the Football Club since 2008 and will play out the rest of the season. Cohen has battled back and calf issues this year and hopefully his body allows him to play League Football again this Season.

He played for Loxton recently. They were very excited about the possibility of him coming back in 2017.

Coey has done some great stuff for the Roosters. I'm glad he's, sort of, going on his own terms.

Again Roosters not tall enough up forward.
Bearing in mind a team has got to kick between 13-15 goals to win these days.
Bulldogs by 4 goals.

North by a small margin. Thiele been a good player for North over 9 seasons. Good to see him play it out.

We'll take the win but geez we made hard work of it. Can any dogs supporter explain to me why we had two key forwards for a change and then refused to play one of them deep at the southern end with the breeze until midway through the second quarter? We kicked goals and then reverted to type playing them way up the ground until late in the last quarter. I deadset just don't get it.

As me and a mate got our season tickets scanned at about 1.30 this arvo at the eastern entrance an official commented "more Centrals supporters, if it wasn't for them there'd be noone here". Not a good sign for the Cocks at a home game they should've thought they were a fair chance of winning.

Centrals got up by their integrity at the end, well done Dogs.
Another game I'm glad I missed! :D

There certainly were plenty of North Supporters on the Grandstand side, a lot more North than Central.. It wasn't a great crowd but there certainly were enough from each team to give some atmosphere.

There were a fair whack on the grandstand side, didn't seem too much elsewhere though, and there seemed to be a fair amount of voice from Dogs supporters there today. One thing I enjoy about games at Prospect is the supporters going troppo near the grandstand and it didn't really happen today.

Micky Mouse stuff SANFL,
the ticket collector at the northern end had to go get the ball (still in the oval grounds) in the Reserves
for the full back to kick in after a point.
How bad a look is this for the competition.

Prospect is a shadow of itself since the introduction of the AFL reserves. Thanks Bohdan.
Ahh well, I had a great week chanting and singing with great atmosphere with fellow Yids in Melbourne for the last 6 days.
