PORT
Power-listed pair Matthew Lobbe and Matt White will make their comeback from injury for the Magpies against the Eagles at Alberton Oval on Sunday.
Lobbe, sidelined by a serious knee injury and White, restricted by a pectoral ailment, have been on the club’s long-term injury list.
But they are now poised to gain valuable match fitness in the SANFL after being joined by Nathan Krakouer, Cam O’Shea, Will Snelling and Zac Hawkins in the Magpies’ 23-man squad.
Ball magnet Sam Gray, Brendon Ah Chee and Paul Stewart have all had their strong SANFL form rewarded with inclusion in the club’s AFL squad.
First-year player Dan Houston was unavailable due to a groin complaint.

The Eagles would wont be to going well for that half then, Frampton will probabbly be better at the moment than Lobbe. Consider it the handicap for this week.

Rowntree to only play a half in the ressies.
League team close to full strength.
Cameron Giles first game for quite a long time, good luck to the lad who has had his fair share of injuries.

Eagles should be too strong but North took them to the wire so it depends how they react.
Ainger is a big boost to them and a nearly full strength team will get over the line
Eagles by 10-15 points

Don't want to split hairs Phil, but aren't these the Port Adelaide Reserves, the reserve team to Port Adelaide who play in the AFL. Surely the history went when the old Port Adelaide SANFL club went. Port Adelaide Reserves only has a history of 2 and a bit years so you couldn't have played them 72 times unless you had a busy off-season.

Also West Torrens started in 1897, not 1894.

To RB & Holden78 ... I think the following from australianfootball.com answers your question.

The origins of the team which went on to carry the name of West Torrens into the SAFA and SANFL date back to 1894, however, when a group of Port Adelaide players, unable to get a regular game, elected to form a breakaway side known as Port Natives. This team, which wore red and white playing uniforms, was affiliated with the Adelaide and Suburban Association in 1894 and the following year was admitted to the SAFA, when it changed its colours to black and gold. After a season under the Port Natives monicker during which it finished last, followed by a season simply as Natives, when it came second from last, the club members unanimously agreed a name change to West Torrens in 1897 to coincide with the inception of district football. By this time, the club had also adopted the blue and gold colours that would become its trademark.

As for what Port records to keep and what not to ... feel free to debate away.

For mine I have included all records from a football team called Port Adelaide and a team called Woodville West Torrens that have met in a SANFL league match. This is the standard league policy as is the 1907 start of head to head records discussed elsewhere.

Should be a day of big celebrations with a 25 year old club against a 20 year old club. Not sure what relevance the 1800s are.
