R15 - West v Port at Richmond

Postby Dutchy » Thu Jul 07, 2016 10:40 pm

WEST
West Adelaide has boosted its scoring power after regaining Shannon Green for the clash with Port at City Mazda Stadium on Saturday.
Accepting a three-match ban from the SANFL Incident Review Panel for engaging in rough conduct in Round 10, Green will be fresh and eager to make an impact after being named in the forward pocket.
Green has been joined in the Bloods’ 23-man squad by former Richmond utility Brad Helbig, goalsneak John Noble and possible debutants Josh Ryan and Jack Evans.
Ryan – originally from Mildura – is looming as a replacement for key defender Adam Hartlett, who has been sidelined by a calf injury.
Evans – from Flagstaff Hill – has been named numerous times on the extended interchange only to be trimmed before the bounce.
Former Essendon rookie Tyson Slattery has been sidelined by a hamstring strain while Kenneth Karpany has been sent back to the Reserves.
Midfielder Kaine Stevens will play his 50th IGA League match.

PORT
Port Adelaide coach Chad Cornes could opt for his first unchanged line-up this year when his side tackles West at City Mazda Stadium on Saturday.
Struck by constant changes to his 21 all season largely due to injury, Cornes has added just two players to his five-man extended interchange bench.
SANFL-contracted pair Zac Hawkins and Tom Corcoran have had their form in the Magpies’ Academy side rewarded with inclusion in the 23-man squad.

My daughter is playing Auskick at half time of this game so it'll be good to see this game.
Surely Port win by 5-6 goals if they are even half fair dinkum.

A question for Westies supporters, Mason Middleton, where do think his career is at. Have seen him play a few times and he has all the attributes to be a top class player (he's a mobile, skillful tall with sensational mitts) but doesn't seemed to have taken the next step. I'm not saying he'll get the tap on the shoulder by any means but is he going to one of those couldabeens?

When he is "on" he is very good but that doesn't happen enough. Still young and bigs do take longer to develop and I think he will become a far more consistent player as he grows into his body.

Fair enough, cheers. Remember seeing him a while back at Elizabeth and thought he could play, one of the few opposition players I can sit back and enjoy watching do well against my mob (as long as they're on the losing side). Players that can make the game look as easy as he can are rare. Hope he goes on with it.

So the 'official' crowd will number 1293. Mr Olsen and his associates are rather adept at fudging numbers. No different to when he was premier.

Westies certainly don't feel like a club who is the reigning premier. The place has no atmosphere, the crowd don't get into the match at all, clearly they're waiting for the season to end to end their misery.
