PORT
Port Adelaide has lost three key players for its crucial clash with Sturt at Peter Motley Oval on Sunday.
Star midfielder Kane Mitchell heads the list of exclusions after accepting a one-match ban for striking Glenelg’s Josh Woodall at Alberton in Round 10.

As a result, Sean Davidson, Tom Corcoran, Aidyn Johnson, Cameron Hewett, Karl Amon, Keiran Agius and Ciaran Hollingworth-Hughes have all been included in the Magpies’ 23-man squad.

Sturt giant Jack Osborn is set to be sidelined for at least a fortnight after being left out of the squad to face Port at Alberton on Sunday.
The former Crows rookie – who was a member of the victorious West End State team – has been carrying a nagging toe ailment for most of the season.
‘’It’s just got to the point where Jack needs to rest it,’’ Sturt football manager Shane Grimm said.
‘’We’ve just got make sure we manage it before it becomes more serious later in the year.’’
Osborn has been replaced in the Double Blues’ 23-man squad by fellow ruckman Andre Parrella, who has been named to start in the centre square.
John Greenslade, James Paprotny, Sam Jonas and possible debutant Brad Coulson have also been listed, with two players to be trimmed from the extended interchange bench.
Coulson – recruited from the Port Magpies – has been previously named but has yet to make his IGA League debut.

Port Reserves look like getting a pasting this week. I watched Sturt last week and they looked very good indeed.
Kirkwood must be one of the best players in the league right now.
DB's by 60-65 points.

Osborn is a huge loss for us this week. His presence in aerial battles is very important and will be missed, although it'll be a good chance for Parrella to step up.
Port took the game right up to the Tigers last week, and Sturt would be getting targeted as we are top of the tree ATM.
Go into this one lightly and Port on their home ground could topple the Double Blues.
Going back three years a game like this would attract 5,000. Not sure how many they'll get this week. Perhaps 2,461.

5000 for a final maybe. The second figure is probably only just under the average over the last 10 years I'd say. But should get at least 2k there (Alberton) on Sunday.

Sturt, top of the ladder , vs Port at Alberton would have got 5,000 pre-reserves.
Perhaps a relevant comparison could be Norwood vs Port at Alberton, pre-reserves during Norwood's resurgence? How much did that game get?

Yeah probably around the mark re Norwood. It helps if one or both teams are doing well; both teams have been up and down over the last 10-15 years.

Edit: I looked up Port v Norwood @ ALB - 3688 in 2009, 2716 in 2010, 4796 in 2012, 3586 in 2013.

Yeah, just did a search on this website myself.
August 2 2013, Norwood 13:5 d Port 2:8 crowd 4,196.
Not sure how Port were doing season 2013, I don't think it was too well.
Pre-reserves there was always a strong crowd for any of Sturt, Norwood or Glenelg, provided they were going well. If port were also doing well you could expect upwards of 6,000.

WHat is Sturts recent record at Alberton?

They were way too good for us three weeks back, as were Port. Ports outs to tell.

Sturt by 4 goals.

Going to watch today, will be the first League game I've watched my brother play this season, only seen him play in the 2's. Also will be great to have a good look at Sturt, especially Kirky and Beard who I haven't seen play live in a long time.

Sturt pounding the Power Reserves at 1/4 time, 7.4 to 2.2. Mark Evans with 4 goals.
