Big Phil, movie extra.

Postby Doddy » Wed Apr 27, 2016 12:53 am

Just saw 'A Month of Sundays' with Anthony La Paglia.

Somewhere in the first 15 minutes or so, Big Phil is on the radio in the car, calling a game. I hear Gowans, Sansbury in the call, maybe Campbell (Norf?).

Just curious BP, was it a random snippet or did you record a few seconds of a fake call for the pic?

Saw it today! Great movie! Get along to see it at the cinema. Locally made, but world class with Anthony LaPaglia in lead.

Credits Life FM at the end. Reckon it's from the Central v Norwood Grand Final. Has James Gowans and Zorzi in play.

So how did Big Phil come off, Logie material? Did he contribute to the drama of the scene with his tense, focussed commentary, or did he come across as being a bit wooden? ;)
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Oscar nomination for sure. I can see a starring role in a Pixar movie coming up.

Ah thanks Aerie, that's reassuring.
Do you think he shows potential for branching out and playing a variety of characters, or is he going to always be typecast as "that guy doing a SANFL commentary" in the background? You know, like the superman syndrome, once you don the red capes on the big screen kiss goodbye to ever playing anyone else.
