Plenty of interest in this one.
Adelaide 18.16 defeated West 7.8 , 74 point the margin.

We will start the year slowly with a number of players missing or underdone

4,000 plus crowd there today I expect? Crows on the telly tonight, so no excuses for them not to turn up.

All I know is the final crowd figure will be half the one given initially - seems to be the fashion these days...

Well done Adelaide.

We don't want you in our competition.

I'm sure the West Adelaide players enjoyed the challenge of taking on professional AFL players.

I wonder how Jono Beech felt.

I'm sure he's sharing the pride with the rest of his 'team' mates.

I hope the Crows go undefeated and win the both finals by ten goals plus

People might be happy with what the SANFULL has become.

The Crows won by 75 points and the scary thing was they looked like they were in second gear for most of the game.....
God help the competition if they put that side out on the park for the next 6 weeks or so....

Only way we may see any change unfortunately

Was so nice to see a big crowd of 4k plus this weekend at an SANFL game

Reminded me of what the comp could be if done correctly

Unfortunately those days are very numbered

I thought this game represented bad fixturing.

You have the unfurling of the premiership flag in a game against a side that isn't in the league to win premierships.

West should have played that game against a proper SANFL club.

Early days yet of course, but a continuation of how they finished last season by the sounds of it.

Going a bit off-topic and getting a bit into academics, they were the best side in the last third of the minor round last season, closing it out by scoring almost at almost 2:1 on average and losing only to the Eagles in a tight contest. Missed out on finals by one win in the end.

One can only speculate just how far they might have gone had they got over the line at Woodville, or held on at Prospect in the opening rounds. I'm happy they didn't, and I'm certain I'm not alone there.

Indeed. Mind you, every game involving the Crows reserves is bad fixturing.

Yep, that might just do it for me as well, I'm sorry to say. Especially if the GF got a full house of Crows rubbernecks waving their flags with '19' emblazoned on them as they share the passion/pride/glory/spirit/apricot slice/[insert marketing cliche here]. I feel sick just thinking about it.

even though the majority of us hate having adelaide and port in the comp, beech would be over the moon with his own performance, his aim is to play afl footy and he took a step forward towards that goal on saturday
