NORTH
North Adelaide will roll out another debutant against Adelaide at Prospect Oval on Saturday.
Brandan Parfitt, 17, has been named on the wing after recently earning Under-18 All-Australian selection and being named the Northern Territory’s MVP at the AFL National Championships.
‘’He’s a midfielder who can play forward with good speed and good skills,’’ North football manager Darryl Wintle said of Parfitt, 172cm and 70kg.
‘’He’s an exciting talent who likes to carry the ball across lines.’’
Former captain Todd Miles returns from a two-match ban for engaging in rough conduct with Central’s Luke Barmby while key forward Nick Dinham has been named on the extended interchange bench.
Ex-Carlton on-baller Rhys O’Keeffe and running defender Michael Virgin have also been included in the 22-man squad.

Heading along to this one tomorrow. North's only win so far was against Adelaide in round 1, but I highly doubt this will be repeated. Crows by 8-10 goals. :)

Nice write up about North by Warren Partland today, pity he can't get the facts straight.
North were not in strong consideration to merger with Sturt in 2003 when we were broke, it was never considered or talked about!
The merger consideration was in the late 90s, a completely different time of the clubs history with different board and different CEO!
Is it that hard for these journos to do some investigation or ask someone who knows what they're talking about before they publish something?
Having been a part of the Roosters Against Merger group in the 90s and helping organise our 3,000 strong rally in 2003 to help the club I have a pretty good knowledge of both times.
Back to Netball please Partland.

Perfect day for footy, smallest crowd I've ever seen at Prospect. Counted 3 Crows supporters while I walked half way around the oval.

Thank christ I didn't run out of drinks!
Good to see how far we've come since Round 2. Was there till after the end.
Felt sorry for the Crows players having noone cheer their big win.

Do the Crows reserves not feel grief and need support from their fans like the senior team?
Terrible crowd last week out at Elizabeth and again today. Id venture to say that more fans made the journey to Perth last week than have turned up in the last 2 weeks combined.
Maybe instead of gathering at Elder Park tomorrow they couldve gone to one of their reserves games

Thought North gave plenty in the first half and possibly should've been level with Adelaide at half time, scored 5 points in a row from memory in the second quarter. The second half really spoke for itself, it was clear from very early on in the third that the Crows had cranked it up and that North had no answers.

So in 1972 North were the champions of Australia. Who would have thought they would fall so far.

To be so uncompetitive against the RESERVES of a struggling team. It's a disgrace. And a team with no fans. Ah at least we can feel sorry for THEM.

So sad that North voted to play this reserves team. So did my club. If North weren't so $hit at least we could have had a playoff for the biggest joke of the SANFL.... but sadly i don't think we (Sturt) can win another spoon from here. Not this year anyway.

Gain comfort in feeling sorry for players of a reserves team that no one cares about, even when they thrash us. It's all a bit weird.

The Crows players at Prospect yesterday had played more AFL games than the North players had played SANFL games!

Not to mention the Crows wage bill yesterday would of been more than the whole SANFL's budget

With Van Berlo, Ellis-Yolmen and Cheney playing their first SANFL matches for the season yesterday, Adelaide has now utilised 50 players at league level in 2015 - the highest number of players used by a team at SANFL league level since my records began in 2008. Eagles with 49 in 2010 is the closest.

Adelaide has had 4/50 play every game (Callinan, A Wilson, Ramsey & Spencely) and only a further six who have played at least 9/12 games. A total of 22 have played 1-3 games.

North has already used more players this year (41) than any other season since 2011 when they used 45, and have only had two players play every match this year (Motlop & Clisby). With none left on the bench yesterday in the second half, there's every chance that 41 figure will climb as early as next round.
