Do you think the SANFL clubs who were spineless in the first instance will have the back bone to stand up this time around?

Wasn't the clubs, was league directors and I don't think some/all of them were spineless but generally had the comp at the heart of their decision but were just ignorant in their thinking.
I doubt some could change their vote because of egos involved but hopefully enough will or move on.

Or the clubs can somehow take it out of the directors hands.

But that is countered by above average rainfall in April and May.....

As posted previously its not the above average or dry rainfall in a month
Its the rainfall on the day that can make a difference

This information from a Glenelg barracker who has attended all bay games in 2015
Adelaide Reserves game was wet
South Adelaide game was wet enough
The other 9 games , the weather was not a factor in putting people off attending

Ambays
I assume you have been to most or all Glenelg games ?
Can you verify that only 2 games were wet enough to affect crowd attendances ?

I would throw in Port at Alberton; hard to say whether the rain would've stopped us going that day because we had an unmissable family commitment so didn't have to make that decision. Pretty ordinary day though.

No evidence that the Crows or Port are going anywhere; might be time to "move on".

If they are not going anywhere there will be many more "moving on."

No AFL games or AFL reserves games in Adelaide this weekend, weather looking good.

Could see some big crowds at the SANFL games this weekend.

Yep solid crowds. Norwood v Centrals; 3,290. Glenelg v Norwood, 3,332. West v Eagles, 3,639.

Pleasantly surprised by the crowd at Richmond, would be the biggest there in a while.

Yes an indication on how the crowds would look without AFL reserves teams.

So all that interest that has supposedly disappeared from the competition due to the current set up just mysteriously came back due to two games being cancelled for the weekend? Seriously? I've seen some straw clutching here but that takes the cake!

How do you explain the massive burst of interest this weekend?

Agree Matt, particularly in the circumstances.
If it was programmed this way and the boost in crowds were a reverse-protest thing that would be great, but not this weekend.

Perfect day for Football for starters! Crowds trending up at Glenelg due to the fact we're actually putting some wins together and giving supporters hope. A game between 2 of the top 3 sides. Would have a lot more to do with it than the fact that the Crows and Magpies had the week off; it's beyond belief that people suddenly decided, oh wow, there's no AFL in the SANFL for a week, let's get along!

Wasn't it a bye in the Country Leagues as well this weekend? That could have had an impact.

Correct, no country leagues at any level played, and again great weather for attending footy, SANFL really has been blessed this year.

so those two games were basically the only football played in SA on the weekend? (at least for country people)
