EVANS TO EXPLORE HIS OPTIONS
21/10/2014 1:24:02 PM

Mark Evans has advised the club that he would like to pursue opportunities at another SANFL club in 2015 despite being contracted to the club for the 2015 season.
Mark is a terrific young man and has been a valuable member of our leadership and football program since starting his career at Norwood as a junior. We are certainly disappointed with his decision but we respect his wishes and will endeavour to work out a deal with his club of choice.
Mark debuted in 2009 and played 41 league games, kicking 61 goals./quote]

Wonder if Mark will only have to change a few words in his new club song?

Be interested to look at that contract, if he has signed, must be an out clause for AFL, my info is that he will be at an AFL club next season, hopefully my info is 100% wrong which it normally is ;)

The standard SANFL player contract has that out clause otherwise there would be a lot of litigation regarding contracted SANFL players breaking their contract to go to the AFL.

Does the standard coaching contract also possess such a clause ... or is that Notso common?

Probably a good decision by Mark, barring injuries probably wouldnt of featured much next year if he stayed. Should easily get a game for Sturt.
Norwood have shown in the past few years they dont let many good ones go

Mark Evans will do well at Sturt and good luck to this fine young man who is well liked and respected by all Norwood people.
Sometimes good players just can not crack a team based on what that particular team has available.
This is a BIG gain for Sturt.

Alex Georgiou has been delisted from Melbourne

Any chance of coming back to Norwood?

Depends if he is picked up at the draft.
If not he will be back at the Parade next year.

Strange that he wouldnt have another crack and nominate for the draft.
Happy to have him back though, no one can replace K-Mac but its a good start.
May still be atleast one more to head back to the Parade also depending on delistings

Georgiou clearly states in the article 'if I am not picked up by another AFL club'.

Sounds like it was his decision , so why have a player not interested in playing for you.

Who have Norwood not let go in the past few years?
