Just spoke to Ty Allen, teeing him up for an interview for the RPH League Teams Show tonight, and he confirmed that he announced his retirement to the playing group at training last night...

His knee is just not allowing him to perform at the level he would like to. He will be playing this weekend in a 'farewell' game...

At his peak, Ty was one of best (and hardest) midfielders going around in the competition...

Congrats on a great career Ty, all the best in retirement...

Tune in tonight, on 1197am RPH Adelaide for Ty's interview at about 8:25pm...

A true SANFL player and one worthy of respect.
He, the Gowans boys, Sheedy, Cicca and Zorzi could all sit around and talk about their no-holds-barred battles and have each others' respect, I suspect.
Good luck with the retirement.

Sadly his body has let him down for a while now.

In his prime, the heart and soul of the club, and should be very proud of his achievements .

Congratulations on a great career. Unfortunately, never resulting in a flag. One opposition player I would have welcomed to my club.
