Norwood was playing Woodville West Torrens for a possible top 3 finish in 2014
Norwood are now playing South for a possible top 5 finish in 2014
Norwood have an easier run home than South and might be able to lose and still make the 5
South on the other hand have a harder draw , and may need to win this to make the finals
North should be beating Glenelg , and be on equal wins with the loser of this match

Mal, you have been following footy for over 50 years. You know quite well the folly of saying North should be beating Glenelg. Throughout history that is the type of game North always drop. Even in North's premiership years they always dropped a game to a bottom side when no one expected it. I think that it is part of North's culture.

Well done Norwood for finally acknowledging this.
These fans don't help people go to games .It's an issue that needs addressing. I'm not in favour of the AFL reserves but it's the same attitude with some supporters. Embrace the supporters and have some banter but don't expect them to return if they cop full on abuse. You are actually doing your club a disfavour.
This site is a minute representation of the whole SANFL supporter base .................thankfully. Apologies for those not so silly posters .

Yes expect the unexpected with North
North in recent years have been able to topple top5 teams, and lose to non finals teams
However
NA should beat GL this weekend , surely ?
That being the case the race for a finals spot opens right up between NW -SA-NA in particular
Backing the second favs in NA games the last 3 years would very likely be showing a profit

Good luck with that.
Dont care if the two AFL clubs supporters dont turn up I dont want them there.
I will continue my heckling and abuse of anything to do with these imposeters
And if the umpires keep putting up performances like last weekend they can expect another barrage of abuse directed at them aswell

Well that first quarter absolutely destroyed us. That's the fourth time this season we've lost thanks purely to one quarter of absolute sh#t.
Round 5 - lost the Eagles by 10 points (lost only one quarter - Q3 by 36 points)
Round 8 - lost to Adelaide by 21 points (lost only one quarter - Q3 by 55 points)
Round 11 - lost to Centrals by 10 points (lost only one quarter - Q4 by 27 points)
Cross seemed to be the only one out there for us in the first half. Liddle and Gotch stepped up in the second half after being quiet prior to half time. Fields did well I thought. Fair enough we dragged the margin back, but when it was there to be won in the last term we just couldn't stand up in the moments that mattered.
McGuinness has a game-high seven spoils and gave Eddy an absolute bath, who only took two marks inside 50 and failed to score. Bode did as he pleased off half back and Panos was magnificent and used the ball well for the Legs. One day Reinbrecht is going to end up with 20 tackles in a match, what a machine (only seven tonight tho).

After a brilliant first quarter we were very ordinary. Two weeks in a row we have started well only to fade out, thankfully this week we got the win.

The funny thing about the first quarter is that for the first 5 minutes, South were all over Norwood and looked the far more dangerous side. Then Norwood jagged one against the run of play, and all of a sudden it went crazy.
Norwood generally weren't much chop and even though they're now in the box seat to make the 5, no-one will be much scared of them in September on this performance.
South's biggest problems are a lack of confidence after a dire run over the last 6 or 7 weeks, plus a really tough run home. I think they'll need to beat Port next game to be a good chance of making the 5. The good news for them is that if they can keep their concentration for 4 quarters and throw someone big up forward to be a decoy for Brett Eddy, I reckon they can.

That first quarter was diabolical!!! Can't give a team and 8 goal lead an expect to reel them in? What started as a season of promise is fading into just another failure!!! Our forward line needed Rolfe and Bass badly! Let's hope they will be back in there real soon as our season is pretty well blown now!,
Why would Eddy continually lead into the pocket 50metres out time and time again, and still fail to mark one!! A lot of dumb footy played tonight!! Hard to watch!!
