SANFL ANNOUNCES NEW BANKING PARTNER

The SANFL has announced a new financial partner following the signing of a five-year agreement with Bendigo Bank.

SA Football Commission Chairman John Olsen said the agreement provided “increased certainty for the future”.

“With the resolution of the AFL licences, the move to Adelaide Oval and the process underway to redevelop the AAMI Stadium precinct, this represented the ideal time for us to test the market,” Mr Olsen said.

“We were resolute that we wanted a local banking partner that would give us a five-year commitment.

“Bendigo Bank was able to give us that undertaking, and so we’re very pleased to be partnering with an institution that – like us – has such a strong place in the South Australian community.”

Bendigo Bank State Manager SA/NT Craig Ralston said the partnership would provide greater opportunity to support a valued, local community brand.

“SANFL football has entertained South Australians for over a hundred years and we’ve been helping that same community with their financial services needs for just as long, so this is a great fit for us,” he said.

“We have a stated objective to be the bank of choice in South Australia and this agreement with the SANFL represents another important step in that strategy.”

Bendigo Bank employs approximately 1,100 staff in its new Adelaide headquarters at 80 Grenfell Street, and another 300 across the South Australian branch network. Australia-wide, the Bank has more than 6,500 employees, who serve almost 1.6 million customers in hundreds of metropolitan and regional communities.
