A pleasant afternoon in the sun. Occasionally the serenity was interrupted by the siren. It was disappointing when the yellow coats stopped the children kicking the football on the oval when the game had to start. The big screen wasn't HD enough for my liking. Oh well, at least I can enjoy the spirit of the AFL in the suburbs now.

The price you pay.

So we find out where we are against a professional outfit, just as we did against Port Power. But we voted for it so suck it up. Its such an even playing field!!!!

Yep sure sucks when you can't beat the second to bottom team that had a few out from last week and you have a shot at going equal top but aren't good enough.

Excuses.

Worrying times, Crows getting there main players back from injuries, lets hope they dont dominate like the other mob, have rated the Eagles highly this season and thought they would bring home the points today easily

I had a feeling that the Crows might have got up today, although not by as much as they did, and actually tipped them in FOOT-e TIMES...

Do we have a crowd? Didn't sound like many Crows supporters there from the tv, but the few that were seemed to be making a bit of noise, especially in the second half.

I hope Kurt Slaven enjoyed the day.

Wundke and AInger being held to just 8 touches between them was obviously pivotal. Hartigan do another job on Ainger?

Ravens starting to get their act together. Was an indictment on their players and coaches that they were sitting bottom a fortnight ago.

Eagles competed for the first 15 minutes of each quarter and then were run off their feet after that. Unless the fitness levels of the SANFL teams get closer to an AFL level it's going to get worse i'm afraid

3k is a better than average crowd at Woodville and means all 3 games so far this weekend are beyond 3k. Good to see!

Thats the difference between PROFESSIONALS and part timers. The Crows created by the SANFL then return to destroy it. Thanks very much and goodnight.

What a splendid day for a good ole thrashing, special thanks to sellout Slaven for the game we had to have!
No atmosphere whats so ever and frankly a fairly piss poor crowd ..... SANFL clubs don't make any money if most people are watching on tv ffs.
For what it's worth we think the only way the abortion of a comp can move forward and keep all parties mostly happy is for it to keep this format but not allowing the pro teams to take part in our finals; If they need games to prepare for AFL finals then they can play each other as much as they want ffs!
This comp has to be about SANFL clubs and no one else, the season has to mean something with the best SANFL club being recognised at the end ala all our history, it can't be about professional players who don't really give a rats scrot about a SANFL FLAG.
It must be a SANFL comp not a State League, a comp that plays 18 rounds with 2 AFL free loaders onboard, then has it's final series of say top four out of the eight, as it has traditionally been etc.

Shaw destroyed Ainger and Hardigan beat Wundke. It was strange. Having three big targets, we started McGregor one out at Full Forward in the last quarter with Wundke on the bench. The ball landed on McGregor's head three times in that first 5 minutes and we got nothing from it. Nothing against McGregor, he is 4 foot nothing, but did Godden leave his coaching brain at whatever pub they were celebrating in Melbourne last weekend? Wundke was still probably recovering from a hangover.

Ainger can't mark a ball in his hands because every time he goes for it he doesn't line his body up with the ball. His hands are a foot either to the left or right of his shoulders. There are big question marks whether Ainger can perform when it matters against good opposition.

I don't think we can have all of Heinjus, Borholm, Grocke, Wundke and Ainger in the same team. One of the big forwards needs to 2nd Ruck or one of the ruckman have to play as the 3rd tall forward. Or one of them needs to be a key position back. Get another runner in there.

Grocke made a good return. One of the advantages of having Ainger and Wundke, he was on the 3rd defender.

The small backmen in Lloyd, Sumner, Raymond and Batley were very loose. The defence needs to tighten up.

Crouch brothers a class above this level. I noticed Matt Crouch more. Brad Crouch a little more dynamic. Both guns and should be in the Crows side next week and for the rest of their careers. I would expect Adelaide to sneak in to the 5 by the end of the season.

It was a bigger crowd than normal, but the atmosphere was non-existent. A few polite claps when the Crows kicked a goal.Even when they kicked a goal in the last that made it impossible for them to lose, there was nothing. Woodville Oval isn't the best atmosphere at the best of times, but with that crowd yesterday it was really quiet.

I had my 3yo with me and usually go to the south-eastern or south-western hills with her so she can run around. Normally there are about 10 other people down those ends and she has run of the hills - but yesterday there were heaps of people with the young kids - mainly in Crows guernseys. There were also more groups of teens together watching - something that has vanished from SANFL footy in the last few years. From that point, I guess it is good for the SANFL competition, but can't ever see how they'll convert them to follow the Eagles. Especially when they get thrashed like that.

At the end of the day, people with old-fashioned views like me, probably need to get over it or go do something else!

The Crows were really good at the Parade a few weeks back and probably should have won with the weight of possession they enjoyed and a 5 goal head start. Tried telling a few people they would cause some damage over the remainder of the season.
