Rnd 6 - Eagles v Glenelg @ M.Thiem Hyundai Oval (Sun 11/5)

The Eagles are up and about at the moment with back-to-back hard fought wins. They were very good against a depleted Panthers side last weekend and proved to be a potent side with Wundke and Ainger up in attack...

The Tigers dropped their game against the Redlegs but will take the positive out of the fact that they outscored the Legs after the first change. Glenelg's forward line has a potent look about it and they are starting to play well together...

This will be an interesting Mother's Day Match...

Do you still get in free after half time?

Not at all confident. We have certainly played a lot better the last 2 weeks, but Woodville seems to be a place we go to get slaughtered. In recent seasons we've copped some absolute beltings there. Fingers and toes crossed we can pull off an upset, but head says Eagles comfortably. Prove me wrong Tigers!

Eagles by 6 goals
Goldsworthy to kick 5 whilst the Bays are busy with Wundke and Ainger

Must be a record low for posts pre and post match combined!

Ok, in short, Jarrad kicked a good goal on the run; Wundke should have got more than 5 goals; I liked Caleb Lloyds' match, too. Glenelg tried, but unfortunately were on the back foot from the start of the match, just like the corresponding match last year. However, the good part for the Tigers was it didn't turn out a 90 point match, thanks to early inaccuracy on the Eagles part (5.5 in the 1st quarter vs the 9.0 last year) and the last three goals of the match.

Come on Aerie, waiting for your usual precise summary. I can stand missing the match but not your synopsis.

Haha. Not much to report. The game didn't reach any great heights and I was too busy making sure my 3yo was lining up properly and not pushing in at the bouncy castle to watch the game closely! Glenelg very ordinary and the Eagles not at their best. Highlight being the form of the young brigade at half back - Lloyd, Sumner, Batley and Von Bertouch. Jarrad and Powell as consistent as ever and Boyd can be added to this group. Wundke too big and strong for many opponents at this level - should have kicked at least 8 goals. Just bank the win and move on to North. Will try and keep you updated so you don't need to cut your trip short to get back! ;)
