The League have launched their new catch cry for 2014...

It's nice that they have moved away from 'Your Tribe is Calling"...

Leigh strikes me as the kind of bloke who'd insist on AM being written after his name at all times. God help the office flunkey who writes this merde if they forget.

Shouldn't the new catch cry be

"SANFL This is football ... and its F****ed  "

The profile of the respondents to the survey make for grim reading:

Overall Respondents – Male 83%, Female 17%
Age Group:
Under 20 - 2.52%,
20-30 - 5.01%,
31-40 – 13.10%,
41-45 – 11.48%,
46-50 – 13.73%,
51-60 – 26.60%,
Over 60 – 27.56%.

Over 50% of the responses came from the over 50 age bracket.

The really alarming stat is only 5% from the 20-30 age group. We really missed the boat with this group of people.

This is the first group of people who would have grown up with the AFL dominating the footy landscape.

Most people in the 31-40 group would have had an SANFL allegiance prior to Crows/Power coming along.

The real concern for the long term viability of the clubs is how many of those under 30 even have an SANFL allegiance?

Farcking hypocrites.

This is football is not a league that has two other clubs reserves.

A completely compromised competetion may be too long but more apt.

I was interested by the same issue, but you beat me to it.

This is also interesting:
Regional/rural SA – 14.26%,
Metro Adelaide City – 10%,
Metro Northern suburbs – 22.34%,
Metro Eastern suburbs – 17.15%,
Metro Southern suburbs – 18.39%,
Metro Western suburbs – 17.86%.

I also wonder what overall percentage of the total SA population that took part was.

Yep. This will be the issue in years to come. We'll be an aging crowd getting smaller as time goes by.

This year (and future years) is going to be a disaster for the 8 SANFL teams. They will be lucky to get a line in match reports against the 2 afl reserves teams, and highlights in the media will be of goals being kicked against them, win or lose.

I think I heard Adelaide Oval catering is to be done by the same company that did Football Park, which, IIRC, Leigh Wicker owns part of?

Is this true?

Encore Group is the catering business Mr Whicker is involved in...

Not sure whether or not they have the Adelaide Oval contract but one would assume they do...
