As announced to those in attendance of the Club Champion awards last night, the Eagles have named their inaugural skipper Peter Schwarz as the new CEO.

"The Board of the Woodville West Torrens Football Club is delighted to announce that Peter Schwarz has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer.
Peter reunites with the WWTFC after a decorated playing career with the Club from 1983 to1994. Peter played 268 games for the Club and was captain of the 1993 Premiership Team. He is also a life member of both the WWTFC and SANFL.

Peter Schwarz said 'It is exciting to be back with the Eagles, albeit in a different leadership capacity. These are challenging and exciting times for the SANFL and the Eagles are well placed to meet them head on. We must strive to always be the best "on and off" the field and I look forward to working with the Board and staff to achieve sustained success for this great club."
Peter joins the Club following 9 years as CEO at the YMCA of South Australia. Peter’s character, leadership, extensive experience in business combined with his knowledge of the SANFL equips him extremely well to meet the challenges of the position of the CEO for the WWTFC.

Chairman, Kurt Slaven said, “Peter has a firsthand knowledge of the culture of the Club having been an integral part of the Club in the past as a player and now having 2 sons playing here. Peter brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in business that will continue to drive the brand of the Woodville West Torrens Football Club into the future.

Peter will begin as CEO on Monday the 14th of October. Members will be able to meet Peter at Members Night on Thursday the 17th of October."

Good to see a 'football person' land the job after the failed venture with Uby.
Should be a solid appointment one would think. I believe Trent Hentschell who was acting CEO preferred his previous role and the contact with coaches and players.

Yeh the football dept. have got enough on their plates, like getting some midfield recruits that cover the ground and thus can provide some consistent defensive pressure on the opposition.
If Powell refuses to acknowledge that other teams feed off his lack of accountability, especially late in games, and plays on, we will need plenty of help.
Lewis, Kane and Rowntree obviously don't add much in this area either.
Unless your a super scoring team with lots of forwards that score regularly, top teams must be able to press up for the whole game and that has to start in the middle. For this I don't blame the coach as I don't think our midfield can actually play the modern way!
RECRUIT MIDFIELDERS THAT CAN MOVE!
