Francou to the Swans!

Postby on the rails » Mon Sep 09, 2013 9:33 pm

As speculated in the media and via various "football" forums - go to nafc.com.au

What will this mean for the chooks come this week and for season 2014.

Early "whispers" have Matty Slade as the likely replacement but is he who some of the players want or not?

Media Release

9th September 2013

The North Adelaide Football Club would like to advise its members and supporters that Senior Coach Josh Francou has accepted the role of Player Development Manager at the Sydney Swans Football Club.

The Club, whilst extremely disappointed at losing such a high quality coach and person, is proud of the way that Josh worked tirelessly to create an outstanding football culture in his three years as Senior Coach.

The Club is also grateful to have him play a key role in setting high expectations among our players and supporters.

Whilst his most visible work was with our senior playing group, Josh has also played an enormous role in setting the direction of our junior development programs, resulting in the high performances we have seen through our Under 16 and Under 18 teams.

The Club would like to thank Josh, his lovely wife Jo and their three boys (William, Oliver & Ben) for being a part of our Club at a really important time. We wish them every success for the future as they move to Sydney in November.

Josh will continue in his role as Senior Coach until the end of the 2013 season.

’While it is an exciting opportunity, my sole focus is on preparing the North Adelaide Football Club for Sunday’s Elimination Final,’’ Francou said.

‘’We face a tough assignment against Central District and I’ve got to make sure the playing group is ready to perform at its peak during the major round.’’

The Club will now move forward with the process of identifying potential Coaches to fill the role in 2014 and beyond.

All jokes aside Collins would have a crack for sure!

God help us but we did sign Healy and he had a worse game plan and defensive mentality than Collins!

lol if Collins ended up at Prospect I'd be tossing a coin between following the Dogs or Panthers!
I'd prefer Healey, Hart and Finnigan!

Landscape has changed forever, have to say one of the reasons for so many vacancies is the pay cuts these roles will be taking in 2014 and beyond

Sad to lose Josh, he is an outstanding asset to the NAFC- we finally got the right coach. :(

Norwood not that long ago had the worst CEO in the history of Test cricket so it is possible to recover pretty quickly.
