Put your money where your mouth is...

There have been lots of pledges to support those clubs that voted NO. Now it’s time to put your money where your mouth is.

How are you prepared to show Centrals and South that you support them voting NO?

Personally I am going to buy both Central and South memberships next year and I have sent them both an email this morning saying thank you.

ceo@safc.com.au

We need to do something otherwise the other clubs will be vindicated in their decision. We can't be apathetic about this.

Email sent to the Doggies. Might wait for an official release/comment from the club before contacting South.

Just sent my email as well. First time in my life I am ashamed to be a Norwood supporter.
Well done Dogs and Panthers.

For South Adelaide memberships contact the club on 8186 8200 or email reception@safc.com.au

All other club supporters are welcome to the club that stood up itself and the SANFL competition.

Just a super marketing tool right there. Well done.

centrals and south should advertise more prominently in the advertiser, local messenger, online about memberships etc

I spoke to Kym Jarman at centrals and joined the $200 club (already a member), and will do the same next year. I've emailed the south club and pledged I'd purchase their membership next year and use their dining/bar facilities. After all as the saying goes, "if you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything."
I now have a "second" team in the sanfl.

Don't be so quick to paint Central and South as heroic.
Once Norwood rolled over it was easy for them to vote NO and save face.
They'll be heroic IF they knock back any of the promised finances.

Eh, it is what it is. I can see where you're coming from, but South made their decision over a week ago at their last board meeting, and gave no indication that they were wavering at any stage.

And besides, wasn't Triggy needing an 8-0 vote to accept this proposal? :^o So if they took him on his (worthless) word, their vote still had some weight.

There are also some risks in publically going against the wishes of the Commission and the AFC I would have thought.

I rang both clubs today.

I emailed both clubs today.

While I can't say I'll be going to their games since I live almost 150km-200km away and I'm not sure the league will be sound, I will be buying a South membership.

I think the point is they didn't roll over, despite the "peer pressure". It would have been easier to be piss weak and roll over, with the others. It wasn't a secret poll and Norwood also didn't have to roll over and could have saved face, and the SANFL.

Why would they knock back the paltry $50,000 Fester? We've discussed over the last 200 pages if these #$^& are let in, it will be to the financial detriment of all sanfl teams. They're going to cop the financial negatives as much as any other club. Why penalise those two clubs twice for the cowardice of others.

South did it for the right reasons. Central just couldn't make up their mind. Their decision could be made without consequence. Probably scared of UK Fan.

Centrals couldn't make such an important decision with the lack of information and the poor quality of the information at hand. I believe this is what sensible managers, businesses, directors do request some facts and tangible benefits when a proposition is put forward.

I'll ask again. What was the exact information that Central wanted? There are many unknowns that can't actually be answered without hindsight.

As far as I'm concerned, it's either a NO because of integrity, a NO because you think the SANFL will be better off without the AFL teams, or a YES because you think the SANFL will be better off with the AFL teams than they would with AFL teams in the SAAFL or another competition.

Central's meek NO is as bad as the meek YES voters.

It has not just been the last month or so that the Crows have wanted a Reserves team. Central should be better prepared than voting NO on the basis of lack of information. Then they could have influenced others.

I can't agree with that Aerie...

When Port presented their financial plan to Sturt, it wasn't Sturt's job to highlight the flaws and help them solve it...

If the Crows can't put together a decent proposal, you vote NO and send them off to rethink it...

Central aren't obligated to do anything unless they themselves are interested in pursuing the idea for some benefit.

Maybe, what are the definitive benefits of an afl reserves team in our comp? I would have thrown in, "where did your crowd figures come from?" after all it has not just been the last month or so that the crows have wanted a reserves team.

While I applaud the stance taken by South and Central, is it too simplistic to suggest that because they are by all accounts the most $ucce$$ful pokies clubs, they didn't quite have the same pressures as the clubs on death's door?
