Can't knock Big Phil's work now...

Port take on Centrals at Alberton this Sunday in what could be the end of the race for fifth spot. In all reality, it will be the end of the race for fifth spot.

Central pounded the Cocks last week at the Ponderosa keeping the leagues most potent attackign side to a miserly 4 goals while Port suffered a similar fate, being strangled at Norwood Oval with Graham Johncocks two goals the only majors posted for the Magpies.

This is a tale of two teams displaying vastly different form.

The last meeting between the sides was in the middle of a purple patch for the Magpies in a stretch where they beat Central, North and Norwood. The wins over Central and Norwood last gasp thrillers. This one doesn't appear to be as an exciting prospect for Magpie fans.

Centrals old heads are coming to the fore with Callinan and Thomas leading the way last week and once again the Doggies look to be heading to September with their form line on an upward curve.

With 2 games and nearly 8% seperating the sides in 5th and 6th spot a Centrals win will finalise the make up of the top 5 and end the chances of Port playing in the major round.

Most would think this one is made for the Doggies - Centrals by 28 points.

But if Port wins, then it would be a very good chance to make up the remaining difference, having a relatively easy run home.
