Rnd 17: Eagles v Sturt @ Woodville (Sat 27/7)

Postby Wedgie » Mon Jul 22, 2013 5:47 pm

Eagles need to keep winning to push for a top 3 berth and will be too good for Sturt in my books. Eagles by 7 goals.

Did Tambling play well enough to hold his spot in Crows. If so, Eags chances improve significantly.
Eags had several injured players on Sat namely - Hall, Allmond, Rowntree, Ainger, Powell. Selection will be interesting!

The Double Blues are a big chance this week. Forecast is for a fine day, 17 degrees and the relatively dry, fast deck at Maughan Thiem suits the way they play their footy. They match up well with WWT and it should be remembered that Sturt have been the better side in 8 out of 10 quarters between the two sides this season. Sturt led by 5 goals at half time of their round one clash before the rain came.......... and of course defeated the Eagles comprehensively on a dry day only a few weeks back.

I wonder after the last match against sturt if the Eagles will play Borholm down back and Hienjus as second ruck !! Many Bloods fans tell us he can play as a KPP

Coupla big outs, particularly Allmond - this has been a year of injury interruptions for him. Would be good to see Appleton finally make his debut.
