North dominating in the Junior Grades

The North Adelaide Football Club have taken out the Under 15 Intra State Championship played this week. The GF result was:
North Adelaide 5.9.39 defeated Glenelg 4.3.27
This adds to the dominant display by the undefeated NAFC U16 SANFL Premiers from earlier this season and hopefully the top of the table U18's can make it a NAFC trifecta later this year.

Good effort, just to clarify that is the under 15 metro final. The under 15's is split into two competitions. The under 15 country final is played after that game. I am not sure which clubs made that final
There is also an under 17 competition being played this week.

No doubt some other club will come and pinch more of our zone to make up for their own failures

In general, which would be the stronger teams, Metro or Country?

In the old days, you would see this and think that North were in for an era of domination, and they may well be but it certainly doesn't mean what it used to given that those players of any ilk will seek the AFL and those not quite up to the rigors of SANFL will seek retribution in the country or Ammo's.
Shame.

Country is by far and away the stronger comp. Thats the one all the clubs want
Senior premiership
U15 country
Reserves, U18, Under 15 metro ect.
Anyone in the know have a view on the u17 comp. Is it of any value in the new junior structure which I guess is in its third year?

I made that same point on "The Roost". As it was and still is, only a very small percentage of players who come through the junior grades at any club actually play Senior / League SANFL Footy. Now with the AFL and drafting of 18 yr olds the very best / elite juniors go to the AFL often with very little or no exposure to SANFL Senior Football.
This is another reason why I don't get the PAFC wanting to retain the whole Magpie structure vs. having an AFL Reserves Side given my first paragraph stats.

Spot on On the Rails it is not what you win at junior level it is how many League footballers you produce.
Many years ago my mate and I kept a team sheet of the Norwood U17 that ran rampant for years winning several premierships.
Of those kids here are the ones who played League with any consistency :
David Pitmann : Crows player too.
Tim McNeil
David Payne
Brenton Klaebe

I agree, junior success doesn't guarantee you are going to get League players. North Adelaide have won 3 of the past 4 U16 premierships. Only time will tell how many of these lads will end up playing League footy at North. So far the signs are pretty good. The first of the 3 U16 premierships belonged to the boys who were born in 1994. Out of this group they have already produced 4 league players - Sam Mayes, Nick Amato, Cameron Craig and Jake Liston. Obviously Sam Mayes has gone onto play at AFL level. I can see 4 or 5 of the 1995 group making it to League level or beyond. The 1997 group is arguably the best of the 3 premiership teams at North, but a lot can happen between the age of 16-18.
I would love to see the Roosters achieve success on the back of the Juniors they have developed. As I said....time will tell.

I watched North U16s beat Norwood by 100 pts earlier in the season, absolutely smashed them not because they were that much better but the fact Norwood have all their sides playing the same game style which at 14 years old can be rough for some lads. They have them playing chip around footy instead of taking the game on and running and carrying ala North.

The same thing happened in the early 2000's at Centrals when they dominated the junior grades with the likes of dave Kellett, rick butler, Kane officer, chris McLean, Dylan Jessen etc etc

The last one could have been anything but unfortunately he got mixed up with the wrong crowd and is now paying for it.
