I just heard that Brian Mulvihill died yesterday. Brian was one of the few players that played for West Torrens and Woodville. He also played for 2 seasons for North Melbourne.

He was the leading goal kicker at Torrens on 6 occasions. He was also at one point a record holder of most games on a game where he kicked 12 against Woodville, where even the great Malcolm Blight was forced to play full back to try and stop him.

He is a life member of the WWTFC.

I had the pleasure of working with Mulva as part of the 5AD commentary team in the mid 80s. He was the source of many great stories of West Torrens in the 50s and 60s.

Vale

Brian had been unwell for a little time - very sad loss for all at WWTFC. Brian was involved at both West Torrens and then for a while at Woodville.

First memory of 'Mulva' was the 1969 drawn semi final against West. If my memory is correct, scores were tied with only a minute or so to go and he had a gettable shot at the southern end and kicked out of bounds. You never knew what you were going to get with his kicking!!
