Rnd 14 - Eagles v North @ M.Thiem Hyundai Ov (Sun 7/7)

Postby Big Phil » Mon Jul 01, 2013 11:49 pm

Off the back of a fantastic, character building win, the Eagles will host the Roosters in their second consecutive 'battle of the birds'. Mick Godden's side played some very good football against Port last week and will take a lot of confidence out of their important victory.

North Adelaide are breathing down the neck of the Bloods, in second position, with just .18% separating the two sides. The Roosters will be looking to continue on from their good win against Sturt a fortnight ago and could welcome back Crows forward Lewis Johnston...

If that was the best West could muster last Sunday, North will get in by the length of the straight.

Can someone explain to me why this game is on a Sunday when it would clash with no SA AFL teams on a Saturday afternoon? Right royally ****** my weekend up.
Might go watch a Union game on Saturday afternoon since I have nothing else to do whilst missing the North match on Sunday. At least Onkas games are played on a consistent basis on Saturday afternoons.
Does any other local sporting comp **** their supporters around as much as the SANFL?
I don't mind if we have 100 AFL teams in our comp, just get rid of ******* Sunday games!!!!

Massive game for these two clubs on Sunday. If North win there will be a nice gap between 3rd and 4th at this time of the season. If the Eags get up it will be a dog fight for the double chance between 4 sides.

In fact if the Eagles were to have a 10 goal win as they did against North at Woodville last year and Central beat West, the Eagles could actually be second come Sunday night.

Grocke named in the Reserves - finally!

Petrenko a handy in for the Eagles as is Johnson for North. Both teams will miss their respective Stewarts.

Would imagine Carey and Summerton will make way for Rowntree and Staple. Staple can stretch the North defence or swing back to the back lines and play a role. With Heath still in, that allows Sumner to be used forward again. Would love to see Sumner have some time in the middle as well.

Didn't see the first game against North. Look forward to seeing this Gordon play.

Talk is that Salter is having trouble with his foot again, could be a late withdrawal. Still a possibility to see P. Stewart play for the Eagles.
Staple is a must after his BOG last week. Is definitely a confidence player.

North lose most Sundays.
Wed kill the Eagles on a Saturday but as its a Sunday I'm tipping the Eags by 28 points.
