Statement: General Manager
The Port Adelaide Football Club advises that Brian Leys has resigned, effective immediately, from his position as General Manager – Magpies.
Leys commenced the role in April 2012 and cited family reasons as his motivation in standing down from the role.
“I’ve been discussing my position with club chief executive Keith Thomas for the last couple of months and I’ve come to the resolution that I want to spend more time with my young family,” Leys said.
“I’ve enjoyed my time back at the Magpies and I wish Ken McGregor and the team all the best for the remainder of the year.”
The club will announce a replacement soon.

Well the writing is on the wall - is it not obvious to Port people. When the Power get their Ressies side in whatever comp takes them, the Magpies are dead so you can't have a CEO in charge of nothing?

In a way I am happy with his views on the reserves issue but on the other hand we may just get another Power Puppet in who is worse

UK Fan. Not sure what you mean by the last 3-4 Presidents comments but cant you just believe the statement that he wishes to spend more time with his young family.
SANFL administration is a 24/7 job for average reward and as a new father he has every right to want to spend time with his family.

Don't disagree with what your saying but out of the SANFL CEO's Ley's would have the easiest gig given the "One Club" control that the PAFC have over the Magpie side of the Operation.

Welcome Powermag.
If you need to know anything about the PAFC, be it AFL or SANFL based just drop UK Fan and OTR a line. They'll be able to set you straight.

Where did former Magpie presidents Richardson/Firth end up working/selling out to ?????

UK Fan.
Richardson was not a President and Firth went to Power Board at time of administrative merger before retiring from all levels.
Again suggest time spent at SANFL administration level cannot be super long term especially with the huge time demands evident.

Agreed that would be the reason behind richo/firth moving from a football administration role to another football administration role . Time with family .
Keep trying!!

If it's written from a Port Adelaide perspective, apparently everything?

I may have read it wrong but your "keep trying" comment, and your misinterpretation of what PM said, made me think you weren't agreeing with him....
