Round 9 - Glenelg v South @ Gliderol Stadium (Fri N 31/5)

Postby Big Phil » Mon May 27, 2013 3:11 pm

After a big thrashing at the hands of the Eagles, the Tigers host the Panthers, coming off another home loss, under the Friday night lights of Gliderol Stadium...

The battle for the Darley Carey Cup will be an interesting one, with South having to be a good chance, not playing at Noarlunga...

Lewis Hender likely to be out for this game (and the year, with a possible torn ACL?) for the Tigers, which is a big blow...

Note that the Reserves are playing against each other on the Saturday, with the Under 18's playing the curtain raiser to the Leauge game, starting at 4:35pm, I think...

League @ 7:10pm

U/18's @ 4:35pm

Broadcast Details - 107.9 LifeFM from 6:30pm

This is going to be the make or break game for Panther fans this season, we lose this then dont expect to see record numbers at the remaining matches. If South can be in front at every change then I predict a 10 point victory.

Being a night game in the cool to colder part of the year and our PPP of late, the results could go either way.

However the Carey/Darley Cup always looks good in our showcase.
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting

South is crap; it only ever wins if both A) it plays another crap team, and B) it plays away from home.

Therefore South is a monty this week. Panthers by 6 goals.

Well if they only win against crap teams...then I will agree South will win, think Glenelg were the crappiest I have seen them against the Eagles since that infamous night at Norwood Oval in 2003 (I think)

WOW - pretty amazing stuff there from the former skipper. Sums him up as a player...

At his peak, one of the best defenders going around that I've seen over the last 10 years...
