Happy with a 6 goal win at Noarlunga. Nice to see some of the younger guys play well.

Very nice to win these games that we used to drop, North were very hard at it all night which was pleasing to watch.
Big game next week!

Had other plans tonight, but managed to listen to the final 1.5 Q on the radio. The last 10 mins of the 3rd obviously killed us, but sounds like we had our chances with the wind in the final term but didn't take them. North stemmed the momentum and bang..6 goal margin in no time.

Looking at the stats...Got smashed in the disposal count. Anybody on Moore at any stage? The radio guys suggested Moore and Cross were lined up on each other. Forward line again too reliant on Wundke by the looks of it. Liddle just the 13 touches. North very efficient when going forward..lack of pressure on bloke bringing the ball forward perhaps? Even spread of goal kickers for North.

Another home loss. Beyond a joke.

Crowd of about 1800, which is pretty ordinary also.

Ainger and the Eagles next week.

With at least 1200 of them North fans. South have an appalling following but kudos to their diehards!

Night footy has done little to lift the crowds unfortunately. Winning a few games might be the next option considered by the club 8)

Oh wow!! What a surprise result....did not see that happening!!!

I think a few South supporters don't want to go and watch them at home as they know the inevitable!!!!!!

Stock standard result........not much more to say really. :(

We are simply a joke at home.

It wasn't the greatest performance tonight. The gap between our good and bad is big but we did enough and looked a class above South.

Didn't help our skills etc. that the ground was muddy, slippery and heavy, apparently South watered it yesterday and today so my "sources" tell me. A ploy to reduce our run and take out our fwd line height advantage?

2 unusual events occured during the game:

(1) Just before halftime Amato had a set shot from the half fwd flank (NW corner) and his kick didn't quite make it, 3 South players watched it drop onto the base of the right goal post with no North player close by and the ball rebounded back into play from the post and a North player grabbed it and snapped a goal. A couple of South players protested but the goal stood!

(2) Late in the game the ball gets kicked into the north-west pocket with no North player near the big South ruckman / defender who proceeds to drop a "sitter" as James Craig rushes in. South guy picks up ball and attempts to play on but is coralled in by Craig and caught holding the ball. Craig on a very tight angle "bananas" the kick back straight thru the middle. I can't remember the last time he had 2 kicks in a game let alone score a goal like he got!

Also I was rather amused when the umpire paid that deliberate out of bounds against South - quite possibly the worst umpring decision so far this year! No wonder the South fans were giving it to the umpires at 3/4 time! I would have been very angry if we were on the receiving end of that!

I live pretty Central, takes me 25 minutes and only 1 time zone change to get to Noarlunga, 'Lizbeff is nearly an hour and at least 2 time Zones, while South are moving closer can you get the Doggies to move South of Grand Junction Rd?

At least Central have the courtesy to start their night games at 6:30pm. A 7:40pm start at Noarlunga means the game doesn't finish till well after 10pm and unless you live south of the CBD, getting home before 11pm is not going to happen.

Good win by North by the way. Seemed to do just what they needed to and no more. Bit disappointing to not put South away a bit earlier but to be fair the South players worked pretty hard and took the lead back twice. The score at the end flattered North and could well be some wallpaper over cracks. Next week will be very telling.

Ian, if you live around the Lockleys area, what route do you take to get to Elizabeth? Takes me 40 minutes from West Beach.
Cheers

6.30 is ok on a weekend but Friday night for both players and spectators having to finish work and get to the ground proves an issue and has in the past with the really early ressies start so I can understand 7.10 start at Richmond and Norwood and 7.40 for the further out grounds.

Perhaps then South should host their night games on Saturday's only? If they want people to rock up, make it more appealing. While they are at it, get rid of the knob with the microphone.
