Rnd 4 - Sturt v South @ Envestra Park (Sat 20/4)

The Double Blues are having trouble staying in the contest for more than a half while South have had a very disappointing start to the year and are keeping Central off the bottom of the ladder...

This should be an interesting game that could go either way and may depend on AFL inclusions / selections for Sturt and the Crows...

They were certainly on TV when they beat the Eagles at Woodville in round 15 last year. They score was South 12 goals 6 to the Eagles 8 goals 13.

The thing I remember most about that result is that Adam Grocke had a shot for goal after the siren. If he had scored at least a point North, who had the bye, would have remained in the five but because he missed South went into the five. I think that they have only won one match since then and that was against North in Round 24. That game was on a Sunday, so I think that we can safely assume that the game at Woodville was the last time South were on tv and won.

Correct robranisgod. From memory we also beat Port on TV @ Noarlunga in a shootout last season. Had a few wins on TV in 2011 also, recall Port away and Norwood away to stitch up a finals spot. So it hasn't been too bad in recent times after a pretty embarrassing run there.

Selection wise, a little surprised Murph got the chop. See him as fairly versatile, and thought a shut-down role might have suited.

Good to see Curtis Perrey get another crack at league level. Have to admire his persistence.

.

South 12:6-78
Eagles 11:13-79
So they were outscored by the Eagles and still won?

12.6 to 8.11, just to clarify. Interesting looking at the team for South that day-only 10 players from it lining up on Saturday.

Sturt to win by 3 to 4 goals.

A televised game and we seem to get stage fight!

In all seriousness though......A make or break game for South. One of the most important ones for a long time.

The players really need to get their "S..t" together and fire up! Their supporters are so its time for them to give them some hope for 2013.....

Murph and Daniel out but gives others an opportunity to have a crack.

I saw Sturt at Norwood v's Port and must say they were not that bad except the last 1/4 and a half. They had a genuine go. South on the time's I have seen them have been utterly woeful and pathetic. This must change and change quickly or you can kiss 2013 goodbye!!

Hope I am wrong with my tip!

So the off season rumours re Murphy being "unsettled" and losing the Captaincy are on the mark given his demotion. Thinking he may not be at Noarlunga next year?

The only problem is that the team that I heard he was likely to go to next year can only recruit from inside its zone for the next 18 months. He does live inside that club's zone though, it could become a legal issue.

Hopefully he stays at South. I believe that his family on his father's side have been long time South supporters and they are already very disappointed with what's happened but despite that they would be heart broken if he left the club.

Peter Rolfe & Sam Richman both to miss the rest of the season after ACL's confirmed.

Rolfe was really starting to have a huge impact with a great season last year and started well this year. Terrible luck

Good luck to both in recovery
