Rnd 4 - Norwood v Eagles @ Coopers Stadium (Fri N 19/4)

The Reigning Premiers battled out a hard fought win against the Dogs, while the Eagles are coming off the bye and a big loss to West the week before. Will be an interesting clash that could go either way but the home side should be too strong...

Redden may be an inclusion which will be handy. Allmond and Staple would have to be the others pushing to be in the 21.
Last year the Eagles dominated the ruck, but Norwood dominated the clearances - particularly in the 2nd quarter when the game was won. Eagles ruckmen and midfield will have to be smarter and not tap down to the same spot every time and when in doubt get momentum going forward.
Norwood obviously heavy favourites and the Eagles being 1-2 after 4 rounds would probably have been expected when looking at the fixture at the beginning of the season. A win would be a bonus, but being competitive for the whole game is a must.

Would imagine Mitchell and Vince could be in's for the Eagles too?

The news I'm hearing out of the port is that Mitchell is set to be downgraded back to a rookie as Salter has overcome his long term injury. So Mitchell should play. Vince however is likely to get a couple of weeks for his collision with Wingard in the showdown.

Just heard Bernie Vince was cleared and is free to play. Hasn't been in the best of form and would imagine he will be in the blue, green and gold this week

Actually ME is correct - 2013 is our 23rd season. Up until the end of season 2012 we had played in 497 games (448 minor round and 49 finals) for a tally of 301 wins, 193 losses and 3 draws.

And to think maths was my best subject in my last year of High School

Possible ins for the Eagles - Brodie Smith, Kane Mitchell, Byron Sumner, Bernie Vince (4 players who can run and carry which is what we desperately need), Jarrod Redden, Jarred Allmond. On the form against West, I would be quite happy to see all of these come in!
Possible outs- Lane, Carey, Ellis Yoleman, Borholm for starters.
After speaking to Staples he said he could have a long term hip injury.

I'm always a bit wary of bringing in a player from a long injury layoff (Brodie Smith) straight into the league team even if he is an AFL palyer. However the Crows are so bad I wouldn't be surprised if the Crows desperately rush him back into the side. Mitchell desperately unlucky to be put back onto the Power rookie list but I'm hoping he lights the season up with the Eagles to try and fight his way back into the Power and get back on their list. Redden will be a huge in to assist Parry. Vince always seems to play well when back with us. If he does get dropped I'd imagine we'd have him for at least 2 weeks.
I haven't seen how Allmond has been going in the ressies but could also be an important inclusion as noted in the above post. Looking forward to seeing how Poole goes. He had an average game against West (he wasn't alone in this) but I am prepared to go with him for many more games to see what he has to offer because I was impressed with his form against Sturt.
I have a feeling this will be a very close game. Aside from that diabolical performance early last year we tend to go alright against Norwood.

If Mitchell, Vince, Sumner and Smith all come into our side I think young Angus will be back in the ressies.

Surprised Port didn't list Brett Ebert as a longer term injury and keep Mitchell upgraded. Can't see Ebert playing any AFL this year if Port continue as they are and Mitchell is very handy? Also cannot see Salter ever wearing the Power colours again.
