1990, according to Central historian Robert Laidlaw...

Their 6 game losing streak (dating back to losing the last 3 games of 2012) is a first in over 20 years now...

Played baseball against Rob Laidlaw.
Got to be a good effort by Centrals though.

Hmm I remember Round 1 1987 very well - we got pumped by Centrals at Elizabeth.

Great win NORWOOD, nothing flash but a workman effort a team effort and good result at the end.
Well done Brett Zorzi I am glad Norwood won for him tonight.
Norwood are building nicely again this year. Bass has certainly got a good team of players dedicated to win no matter how or what the situation is.
I am excited to think Flip, Aishy, Juice and Bryce are still to comeback yet to name a few.
Norwood didnt play great football but to beat the dogs anytime any place is a great win!!!!

A 0-3 start but no need to panic yet. The 3 losses have been against the top 3 from last year who are also setting the pace this year. They are also the only team to get even remotely close to Norwood or West, so it wouldn't surprise me to see them get back to 5-3.

TSG wants to know if any of the Norwood supporters swore and upset the precious home fans?

Great effort by the Dogs tonight. No surprise to see the defence looked alot tighter with Thommo and Collier playing permantley as defenders. Unfortunatly one defender in particular was taken advantage of and his opponents continued to kills us all night. Bass is a smart man you cant get away with a weakness against him.

Waldhutter and Haydon were brilliant tonight, they continued their great attack on the ball and just used the ball to their strengths when they had it. Imho they were easily in our best.

Was great to have Callinan back, he adds so much bite to the midfield/forward line and is value for possesions.

With a couple of tinkers i still believe we can make the 5. It killed us in the last ten minutes when Obst had to relief Guilhaus in the ruck and we then had no half forward line to which Norwood created their rebound.

I reall love the crack Hewitt has and he really looks the part, just at times drops a couple of marks he should take but worth persisting with.

Skill errors repeatedly killed us would be an interesting stat on how many Norwood goals came directly from a Central skill error.

Anyway we move on next week and hopefully can bring u our first win, though Kirkby and McKernan will test our defence.

Pleased with our effort tonight but a little disappointed because we had plenty of chances to win the game. Our backline played well and provided good run. Thommo probably had his best game in a while. Just need to polish our skills and finishing.

Totally agree, was no surprise really to see Thommo, Goodrem and Collier go to defence and all of a sudden Haydon and Waldhutter had really really good games.

I was really impressed with Waldhuter's attack on the ball & run & carry! He looks the goods, a suitable replacement for Our Captain Thommo. Unless He goes off to The Mighty AFL.

1987, according to Central historian Robert Laidlaw...

Their 6 game losing streak (dating back to losing the last 3 games of 2012) is a first in over 20 years now...

Robert Laidlaw is a great bloke and a very good historian, but a pet hate of mine is when the media take one man's word for something and then continually spruik it even though the vast majority of us know that it was wrong.

How hard in these days of electronic media is it for callers to check their facts before continually prattling on about something that is clearly wrong. I was at Elizabeth for the first game of 1987 when Central absolutely crunched North by 82 points (I digress but I was also there for the last game of 1987 when North absolutely crunched Glenelg by 82 points - I loved the coincidence) but I must have heard 20 times on the otherwise excellent coverage tonight that Central were 0-3 in 1987. I know that I need to get a life, but it was driving me to distraction tonight.

It is about time that the SANFL had correct statistics readily available electronically instead of the rubbish that is currently provided to the media. Not since Bernard Whimpress worked for the SANFL in the 1980s have we had anywhere near correct stats for the SANFL.

Sorry about the rant but it drives me crazy.
