I still don't understand why port and west were not given similar recruiting bans.

Yes, but wasn't this after they'd already recruited a number of players for this season? Did both port and west partake in the pre-season draft? Did port get a recruiting ban?

Pizz weak by SANFL. How many cheats to we have to allow before they get the balls to hand down a decent penalty. Yet another half-pregnant by the weakest decision makers in Australian sport. No wonder this leave is going downhill faster than Adam Cockshell on a waterslide ..

Regardless, I imagine any win is a little soured when cheating is involved.

But there was no cheating, just a breaching!!
Best $60,000 we never spent.
Team fully galvanized and focused on 2013.

Won't cost us a cent.
Upset SANFL benefactor will pay and the league will actually lose money.

No mini draft selections and the two recruits were signed before the penalty was delivered. Don't think Port got a recruiting ban because their breach was minor

"failed to provide appropriate documentation " is considered a serious breech?

Much ado about nothing.

Will have to see if the SANFL imposes similar penalties for other offenders in the future.
  as if....

"Norwood Football Club (“NFC”) entered a plea of guilty to breaching regulations 18.11.1.2 and 18.11.1.3 and made submissions on penalty at a hearing on the 25th of March."

What exactly are regulations 18.11.1.2 and 18.11.1.3?

Following confirmation from the brave leaders of our great comp (like gags etc) you are the 2012 premiers. Maybe not fair and square, but winners none the less. Enjoy the spoils of your somewhat tarnished victory.

Yep that's what I thought, westies had already recruited or drafted a number of players before the ban took affect. So norwoods got a harsher penalty for what some have described as an administrative error.

Well said. At the end of the day, they were under the salary cap which is the most important.

Bunton, may I just ask how it feels to support a club that over the years has spent $$$$$$ on so called gun players and all you have to show for it is salary cap breaches x2, a crap wind-tunnel ground that no-one wants to attend and bottom 4 finishes that have lasted longer than Gene Simmons' sex life???

Oh, and no Premierships for 49 years??

Just curious!!
