Interesting tweet from MMCM that Sturt may be interested in selling their mini draft pick?

Also says Sturt to decide next week and would need approval from the SANFL

Could be a price tag of $15-20K and that Norwood and Central could be interested.

Shouldn't be allowed. Opens a can of worms.

I am aware of that. I just think its not the sort of thing that should be able to be up for sale.

Agree!

Would be interesting to see what happens after the pre season drafts and how valuable the number pick would be

If they don't want a player in the mini draft they should be made to "pass"

They should be picking as many afl listed players as possible. They don't have to pay them.

No Harm in asking and if some silly Footy Manager wants to cough up the $$$$$$ then why not?

Exactly ... shows how dire Sturt's financial situation is when they're trying to sell something they haven't got any entitlement to.

Oh they have to pay, maybe around $500 a league game that counts against the Cap also.
If a club is down, they would be stupid to not take a pick or two with the hope they can build a relationship with the young lad as the Eagles were able to do with Mark McKenzie!
Player swap could work though as clubs look to solve gaps in their lists ie. Ruckman for an onballer etc.
Whatever player you get in the draft, you should be able to shop him around straight away to see if a trade can be done with another clubs pickup!

The advertiser forgot to include the three players the power got in the F.A./Trade period.

Campbell Heath
Jake Neade
Lewis Stevenson

Sofar this makes eleven players eligible for the SANFL internal draft.

Are they that desparate for $15k?

Why would a club shell out $20K for a player who might not even be available to them? ie - Jacobs does a knee in the 1st trial game & Graham becomes the number one ruckman.

Exactly the reason North said no when asked by the 'Tiser!

You wont see much of them in 2013.

It could be a very smart move by Sturt if infact the SA based AFL clubs do have Reserves sides in 2014 as many are suggesting.

Totally agree!! I sincerely wish Sturt all the best in their financial recovery, but I think allowing ANY club to sell a Mini-Draft pick is a terrible idea.
